PUNE: Swiggy (Swiggy Ltd, NSE: SWIGGY / BSE: 544285), India’s pioneering on-demand convenience platform, partnered with the Pune Traffic Police to conduct a Road Safety Awareness Session for delivery partners in Pune, under the ambit of Delivering Safely, its road safety charter.

The program was conducted to educate and empower 130 delivery partners in the city. The session was designed to encourage safer, proactive driving habits, reinforce the importance of adhering to traffic regulations, and reduce risky behaviors through better time and route planning. It was led by the Pune Traffic Police officials including Amol Zende, DCP, Pune; Sunil Gawali, Senior PI; Hanif Shaikh, RSP Traffic and Devidas Patil, RSP Traffic, who provided invaluable training and guidance to the delivery partners.

“India has witnessed an increase in the number of road accidents and fatalities over the last 2 years. India has the highest number of road accidents fatalities globally. Under the charter of Delivering Safely, Swiggy is committed to the welfare and safety of its delivery partners and partners with police authorities to conduct various road safety awareness programs across the country. The objective is to enhance traffic road safety and ensure that delivery partners follow traffic rules at all times. We are thankful for the support extended by the Pune Traffic Police and hope to improve traffic sensitization and enhance the safety of delivery partners who are one of the key pillars of our business,” said Shalabh Shrivastava, Senior Vice President, Drivers Organization, Swiggy.

Over the years, Swiggy has conducted drives in different cities across India in its commitment to enabling a safe working environment for its delivery fleet. All delivery partners at Swiggy are provided with insurance that protects them on the road.

In April last year, Swiggy partnered with Gurugram Traffic Police for a Road Safety and Traffic Awareness Workshop. The training workshop was attended by over 100 delivery partners. In 2023, in an industry-first initiative, Swiggy partnered with Dial 4242 to provide on-demand, free, and fast ambulance services to its delivery partners. Swiggy also has Emergency Support Services (ESS), which encompasses various options to cater to the needs of delivery partners during an emergency or mishap on the road. The ESS includes 24*7 hotline numbers, emergency cards for delivery partners, and a direct link to the local police and ambulance service via an SOS button on the delivery partner app.

For Swiggy, the safety and well-being of its delivery partners and the wider community is of primary importance. All delivery partners of Swiggy undergo a safety guidance module at the time of onboarding. The platform also conducts safety campaigns offering support and guidance throughout the year.

GURUGRAM: Everyone deserves to get back home safely. Yet, India’s roads witness over 1,50,000 fatalities annually, making road safety an urgent national priority. CARS24, India’s leading auto tech company, has partnered with the Indian Road Safety Campaign (IRSC) to take meaningful action—improving infrastructure, integrating technology, and driving policy-level change to reduce road accidents and save lives.

This initiative aligns with CARS24’s vision of ‘Better Drives, Better Lives’, reinforcing that safety isn’t just a responsibility, it’s a movement that requires awareness, action, and collaboration.

Pothole Reporting & Resolution

One of the latest initiatives under this collaboration is pothole reporting through the CARS24 app. Users can now report potholes in real-time, helping create a centralized database of road hazards. Upon verification, IRSC will take action to fix selected potholes, while the remaining data will be shared with local authorities to push for broader road repairs. Additionally, all reported potholes will be geotagged, allowing other motorists to navigate safely and avoid high-risk areas. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between citizen reporting and government action, ensuring quicker resolution of hazardous road conditions.

Beyond Potholes: A Comprehensive Road Safety Approach

CARS24 is expanding its road safety efforts with new features in its app, making crucial information more accessible to drivers:

Location-based helpline numbers for quick access to emergency assistance.

Simple road safety guidelines to promote responsible driving behavior.

A user-friendly guide to traffic laws to keep motorists informed.

A daily road safety quiz to reinforce awareness and encourage engagement.

The feature is currently live on IOS and will be coming soon on Android.

Empowering People: First Responder Training

CARS24 is also preparing to train all Autonauts (its employees) as first responders. The initiative has already begun, with 150 employees—including all co-founders—trained in CPR, first aid, and emergency response techniques. This program will be expanded to equip more people with life-saving skills, ensuring they are prepared to step in when it matters most.

Advocating for a Safer Tomorrow

CARS24 and IRSC are working to address road safety challenges at a broader level by:

Identifying and addressing accident-prone zones using data-driven insights.

Advocating for stricter road safety enforcement to reduce fatalities.

Engaging with policymakers and urban planners to improve road infrastructure for long-term impact.

“We’ve all seen it, a crash that changed a life forever. India has just 1% of the world’s vehicles but 11% of global road deaths. That’s not bad luck—it’s a failure of infrastructure, enforcement, and awareness. Over 60% of these deaths are preventable, yet road accidents remain an everyday tragedy. It’s time to change that. CARS24 is stepping up, not just to talk about road safety, but to take action.

Because no mother should have to fear every time her child steps out. No father should have to worry if their child will make it home. No family should receive a call that changes everything. Fixing potholes, improving accessibility, and empowering people with knowledge and tools, is our first step towards this mission. Having said that, road safety isn’t just one company’s effort; it’s something we all need to take responsibility for. Because a safe journey home shouldn’t be a privilege—it should be something we build together.” said Gajendra Jangid, Co-Founder, of CARS24

Adding to it, Vikram Chopra, CEO and Co-Founder, of CARS24 said“India loses 3% of its GDP annually due to road crashes. That’s more than what we spend on healthcare and education combined. Beyond the personal tragedy, road accidents impact the entire economy. If fixing roads, enforcing laws, and driving responsibly can save lives and boost our nation’s progress, then we have no excuse not to act.”

As per Amar Srivastava, Founder and President of, the Indian Road Safety Campaign, “We started IRSC more than a decade back due to the loss of close seniors to a road-crash at IIT Delhi. However, India still loses more than 1 lakh youth to road crashes, and solving such a multi-sectoral problem would need the private, government,t and citizens to come together to solve this while using technology as the backbone for sustainable impact. With our collaboration with CARS24, we aim to save a million lives across the next decade by leveraging technological innovations to change behavior and nudging citizens at scale to drive responsibly and help reduce crashes by active participation”

As per Deepanshu Gupta, Co-Founder and Vice President of the Indian Road Safety Campaign, “While a lot of people believe road crashes are accidents, they are not. Every accident is preventable by systemic interventions, and with our collaboration with CARS24, We would work across the 4Es of road safety [engineering, education, emergency care, enforcement] at 10x scale and speed. Road crashes are today the leading cause of youth deaths. While this is a global menace, India leads the pack, and I am hopeful that if we all collaborate to act, we will also be the leaders in showing how to solve this sustainably. The time to act is now Better Drives, Better Lives“

CARS24 and IRSC are committed to making road safety a fundamental part of mobility. Every initiative, partnership, and innovation is aimed at reducing accidents, enhancing road conditions, and ensuring safer journeys for all.

Roads constructed with lignin bio-bitumen blended at up to 15%, can achieve a 70% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions compared to conventional fossil-based bitumen

PUNE: Praj Industries, India’s leading industrial biotech company has announced the inauguration of the country’s first sustainable road made using lignin-based biobitumen. Inaugurated by the Hon. Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, this road is at the Nagpur-Mansar Bypass project, NH 44. This eco-friendly technology can partially replace fossil-derived bitumen and is being used to create the country’s first national highway.

Praj’s proprietary technology refines crude lignin into Lignin Bio-Bitumen and has the potential to replace fossil-based bitumen and offer sustainable solutions to the road infrastructure industry. This green construction material, with a blending capacity of up to 15%, offers significant benefits, including a 70% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions compared to fossil-based bitumen. India would require ~15 lakh tons of bio-bitumen to achieve 15% blending with conventional bitumen. Through this investment, India can save ₹4000-4,500 crore on foreign exchange, marking a transformative step toward sustainable and eco-friendly road infrastructure.

Commenting on this development, Shri. Nitin Gadkari, Hon. Minister of Road Transport and Highways, congratulated Praj on the successful development of this technology saying, “The biobitumen used in this project, developed by Praj Industries in collaboration with CSIR-CRRI, is a significant step toward sustainability. It reduces our dependency on imported bitumen and provides an innovative solution by turning agricultural waste into a valuable resource.” He also expressed that in the future, our farmers will not only be food providers but also energy providers, producing biohydrogen and contributing to a cleaner and greener India.

In a collaborative project with CSIR- Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), Praj tested the lignin-based bio-bitumen sample for application studies, successfully replacing up to 15% of bitumen. Praj laid a service road in Halol, Gujarat using Lignin Bio Bitumen as one of the components. After 2.5 years and 3 monsoon seasons, CSIR-CRRI conducted the performance evaluation, and the results were found satisfactory with no signs of distress on the road. This success was one of the key factors in building the Nagpur-Mansar project.

Talking about this milestone, Dr. Pramod Chaudhari, Founder Chairman, Praj Industries said, “The inauguration of India’s first sustainable road using a lignin-based bio-bitumen is a proud moment for Praj Industries and a testament to India’s commitment towards a greener and self-reliant future. This innovative lignin-based bio-bitumen, developed under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, not only replaces fossil-based bitumen but also helps save significant foreign exchange, strengthening our nation’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. We deeply thank the Hon. Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, for his visionary leadership and unwavering support in fostering sustainable infrastructure development. As we look toward the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047, we are also advancing our efforts in bio-hydrogen development, which holds immense potential to transform India’s energy landscape and contribute to a sustainable future. At Praj, we remain dedicated to pioneering eco-friendly solutions contributing to nation-building and global climate goals.”

Bitumen, a black viscous mixture of hydrocarbons produced by fractionation of crude oil, serves as a crucial binder in road construction. However, the rapid consumption and future demand of this product require a sustainable solution to attain the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. According to oil ministry data, India’s bitumen consumption in 2023-24 was 88 lakh tons and is expected to rise to 100 lakh tons in 2024-25. 50% of this bitumen is imported, incurring an annual import cost of ₹25,000-30,000 crore for the country.

Ideated and executed by Schbang and implemented by Monday Ventures, BGMI initiates a game-changing campaign with Bengaluru Traffic Police to promote road safety

MUMBAI: Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is India’s most popular multiplayer battle royale game developed by KRAFTON, where players are dropped onto an island and must fight to be the last one standing. Players can choose to play solo, in duos, or in squads of four, across the various modes and maps available in-game. It has become so popular within the audience, that BGMI includes gameplay reminders that prompt players to practice safety skills and take regular breaks, to encourage responsible gaming habits.

Tapping into the culture of this audience, they also noticed that a lot of this same audience also prefers searching for their thrills off-screen, and on the road, leading to quite a few casualties owing to their daring actions. The risk-taking should be restricted to your in-game activities only, and to address this, the BGMI x Schbang team, decided to tackle this conversation in an innovative way using in-game and on-ground billboards, and social media conversations.

The Joint Commissioner of Bengaluru Traffic Police, MN Anucheth, mentioned that though Bengaluru’s traffic congestion is well-known, accidents due to negligence pose a more critical issue; stating on-road fatality rates in age groups from 18- to 30-year-olds are 50% due to not wearing helmets, and 12–15% due to overspeeding.

In line with this exciting approach to road safety, BGMI has teamed up with the Bengaluru Traffic Police to spread awareness about safe driving practices. Ideated and executed by Schbang and implemented by Sahil Sardana of Monday Ventures, the initiative emphasizes the importance of wearing BIS-approved helmets, which are crucial for protecting riders and ensuring a safe ride.

Each billboard draws parallels between game scenarios and traffic safety messages: one emphasizes helmet safety by comparing in-game protective gear to real-world helmet use; another contrasts the thrill of speeding in-game with the dangers of real-life overspeeding; and a third underscores that unlike in the game, there are no second chances after serious accidents.

“We’re thrilled to bring in-game moments to real life by collaborating with Bengaluru City Traffic Police. This was an ideal opportunity to connect with our audience, and make a significant impact off-screen, transforming our iconic Lone Survivor, the Level 3-helmet guy, now a symbol of road safety for all;” says Srinjoy Das, Associate Director of Marketing.

This campaign aims to leverage BGMI’s influence to promote safer driving practices and reduce traffic accidents, by educating and engaging the community in a fun and interactive way, ensuring that every journey is as thrilling and safe as possible.

Sushant Vithaldas, Head of Business Operations – Bangalore, Schbang expressed, “This campaign aims to engage our consumers with the very important message that risks should be taken only within a game, but not in real life. BGMI being one of the most popular games, we chose to use the game itself as a language with visuals and copy that our audience resonates with across each asset created across digital billboards, in-game billboards, and social media platforms, emphasizing the importance of applying protective measures from BGMI to real-life situations for enhanced safety. This approach aims to increase recall and relatability, effectively driving home the message of road safety and highlighting that in real life, there’s no second chance to revive.”

MUMBAI:: The Race 2 of Round 4 of the 2024 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship today witnessed the riders of IDEMITSU Honda Racing India team putting forward their effort and determination in the AP250 class race amidst the field of strong competitors at Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia.

Starting from the 27th position on the grid, the 19-year-old Chennai’s riding prodigy, Kavin Quintal, showcased his racing prowess by securing the 18th position with a total time of 18:23.701. Despite the challenging circumstances and strong competition, Kavin managed to stay steady and avoided any crash. He advanced through the ranks and demonstrated his strategic riding skills throughout the race today.

His teammate, Mohsin Paramban from Mallapuram, started today’s race from 21st on the grid and finished at the 23rd position in Race 2 with a total time of 18:45.987. He displayed focus throughout the race. Despite facing intense competition and challenging race conditions, Mohsin navigated his way with determination and resilience. His calculated maneuvers helped him complete the race.

Unfortunately, both the riders could not secure any points for the team in this round. The IDEMITSU Honda Racing India team holds a cumulative total of 12 points across all four rounds of the 2024 Asia Road Racing Championship.

IDEMITSU Honda Racing India rider Kavin Quintal shared, “Today’s race was indeed challenging, but I gave it my all and managed to climb a few positions. Starting from 27th on the grid and finishing 18th amidst such strong competition was a tough task. Each race is a learning experience, and I am gaining valuable insights with every lap. Round 4 did not go as we had expected. However, I am determined to keep improving, fine-tuning my strategies, and aiming for better results in the upcoming rounds. The support from the team has been incredible, and I’m confident we will achieve greater milestones together.”

IDEMITSU Honda Racing India rider Mohsin Paramban commented, “It was a tough race with intense competition and challenging conditions, but I focused on maintaining a steady pace and completing the race. Starting from 21st and finishing 23rd was not what I aimed for, but each race brings its own set of lessons. We did not gain points today but the encouragement and support from the team kept us motivated. We are staying positive and working hard to come back stronger in the next round. The journey is as important as the destination, and we are committed to making continuous progress.”

A successful campaign that left a mark on over 2500 school students and staff members!

PUNE: HMSI believes that the Safety of every individual is a topmost priority. To ensure that awareness of road safety reaches lakhs of citizens, it frequently conducts Road Safety Awareness Campaigns across various regions of the country. One such campaign was recently held in the city of Pune which left a lasting impact on the participants. On the grounds of Army Public School, HMSI achieved one of its milestones where it saw an active participation of more than 2500 school students and staff members. The campaign was an amalgamation of activities such as slogan writing, poster poster-making contest, a road safety quiz, and an article writing competition that kept the participants engaged throughout the campaign.

HMSI strongly believes that children are the future of this society and their awareness of road safety at an early stage can contribute to making the roads accident-free. It frequently conducts road safety awareness programs that are interactive and engaging, catering to a wide range of age groups, from children to youth, and are conducted in schools, colleges, government institutions, and non-governmental organizations.

Since its inception, in the state of Maharashtra, HMSI has imparted education to nearly 2 lakh adults and children, focusing on promoting responsible road usage and cultivating safe riding habits.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India’s CSR Commitment towards Road Safety:

In 2021, Honda globally made a vision statement for the year 2050 where it will strive for zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles. In India, HMSI is working in line with this vision and the Government of India’s direction of reducing fatalities to half by 2030.

One critical aspect of achieving this goal is inculcating a positive mindset towards road safety in our children by the year 2030 and continuing to educate them thereafter. Road safety education at schools and Colleges is not only to create awareness but to inculcate a safety culture in young minds and turn them into safety ambassadors. It empowers future generations to become responsible and significantly contribute to a safer society.

HMSI wants to be a company that Society wants to exist and is strongly focusing on Road safety awareness to all sections of society with unique ideas catering to each segment from school kids to Corporations and society at large.

HMSI’s set of skilled safety instructors conducts daily programs at our 10 adopted traffic training parks (TTP) across India and 6 Safety Driving Education Centers (SDEC) to make road safety education accessible to every part of society, and the initiative has already reached over 5.7 million Indians. H MSI’s National Road Safety Awareness program made learning fun yet scientific through:

SCIENTIFICALLY DEVISED LEARNING MODULE: Honda’s skilled instructors set the foundation with theory sessions on road signs & markings, driver’s duties on the road, riding gear & posture explanation, and safe riding etiquette.

PRACTICAL LEARNING: A special training activity on Honda’s virtual riding simulator was executed for all to experience over 100 possible dangers on the road before actual riding.

INTERACTIVE SESSION: Participants were given danger prediction training known as Kiken Yosoku Training (KYT) which helps in enhancing rider/driver’s sensitivity to danger and ensures safe driving behavior on roads.

EXISTING DRIVERS HONING RIDING SKILLS: Students & school staff members who are already existing riders tested & honed their riding skills through slow riding activities and riding on narrow planks.
