Tata Power Solaroof, part of Tata Power Renewables Energy Limited, announced the Special Scheme on Independence Day during the Ghar Ghar Solar campaign in Pune, exclusively for Maharashtra.

Key highlights of the new scheme include paying only ₹1947/- and owning the rooftop system, symbolic of the year of India’s Independence – representing freedom from high electricity bills, almost 100% of system cost available as loan, affordable EMIs starting from ₹2369 (for 2 kWp system), flexible financing tenures up to 60 months, instant digital loan approval for faster processing, and as a bonus benefit – Tata Power Solaroof is also providing complimentary 1-Year Solar Insurance from TATA AIG  to all residential customers.

Under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, residential households are eligible for central subsidies of ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW, and ₹18,000 per kW for the next 1 kW, with a total subsidy capped at ₹78,000 for systems above 3 kW. To further ease adoption, Tata Power Solaroof has partnered with 15 leading financial institutions, such as SBI, Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, and Indian Bank, to provide accessible loan options for Residential Customers.

As of July 2025, Tata Power Solaroof has achieved a cumulative installed rooftop solar capacity of 775 MWp in Maharashtra catering to catering to 27,910 customers, and is targeting an additional 800 MW over the next three years. In Pune, where the company already has a robust presence with 200 MW of installed capacity, plans are underway to add a further 250 MW within the same period, reinforcing its commitment to accelerating clean energy adoption in the state.

Furthermore, the company aims to expand its presence in Maharashtra by onboarding 1,000 channel partners and retailers over the next 3 years, thereby strengthening its distribution network. The rooftop solar segment delivered a remarkable PAT of ₹209 crore, including ₹100 crore in Q4FY25, demonstrating strong profitability and wide-scale adoption.

Strategic tie-ups with over 20 financial institutions further help make rooftop solar affordable for all. To date, Tata Power has enabled the financing of solar projects worth over ₹ 5,680 crore, empowering people to make the switch to clean energy.

To ensure quality and supply chain self-reliance, solar modules deployed in Tata Power’s rooftop projects are sourced from its advanced TP Solar manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.
