Empowering the Vulnerable

Led by Didi Krishna Kumari, the Mission’s outreach programs reached diverse sectors of society, prioritizing dignity and practical support:

• Healthcare Support: Distribution of nutrition and hygiene kits at Tarachand, Kamla Nehru, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel hospitals.
• Disability Rights: The “Limbs for the Limbless” initiative successfully distributed 42 prosthetic limbs, restoring mobility for recipients, including infants & children.
• Education & Youth: Stationery and exam-essential kits were delivered to ZP School children in Mulshi and students at Mahatma Phule School.
• Social Inclusion: Tailored aid and apparel distributions were held for the visually impaired, the transgender community, and residents of the Mahila Ashram Orphanage.

Sustainability Through Skill Development

A unique highlight of this year’s program was the integration of the Dada Vaswani Skill Development Institute. Most of the cloth bags and apparel distributed were handcrafted by students at the Institute, ensuring that the Mission’s charitable efforts also support vocational training and local livelihoods.

A Legacy of Gratitude

Since its inception in 1998, Thanksgiving Week has been the Mission’s primary vehicle for spreading the message of “Gratitude in Action.” The week included daily havans, shukrana satsangs, the launch of the 2026 Hindi inspirational calendar (Apne Jeevan ko Samridh Banaye), and a soul-stirring musical session by the “Soul Strings” band Bhuushan Maloo.

In her address to the gathering, Didi Krishna Kumari shared a transformative mantra for daily living:

For everything, say, ‘Thank you, GOD.’ And when things do not go as planned, affirm that everything that happens is for my good.”

In Pune, the day began with a Prabhat Pheri, an early morning procession from 5:30 AM to 6:30 AM. Devotees, led by Didi Krishna, Head of Sadhu Vaswani Mission, sang devotional songs as they walked through the streets of Pune, Camp. Various sevas (service activities) were conducted throughout the day. Afternoon and evening satsangs featured recorded talks by Sadhu Vaswani and Dada J.P. Vaswani.

Lina, a devotee from Hyderabad shared, “I feel Dada’s presence more strongly than ever. It’s a unique connection, one that can only be felt and experienced.” The day’s observances concluded with Midnight Kirtan from 10:30 PM to 12:00 AM, drawing devotees from around the world to pay homage to the saint.

The Punyatithi celebrations will continue on July 13th with an afternoon Satsang featuring a LIVE talk by Didi Krishna, followed by a Langar (fellowship meal) for all. The day will conclude with an evening satsang from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, highlighting the teachings of Dada J.P. Vaswani.

Major sessions of the Punyatithi are being broadcast live on the Sadhu Vaswani Mission’s official YouTube channel. All programs are open to the public.

Dada J.P. Vaswani, a revered Indian saint and distinguished philosopher, inspired the establishment of numerous schools, hospitals, and service programs for the needy, leaving a profound legacy as a spiritual leader and educationist.

PUNE: Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrations in Pune were held by the Sadhu Vaswani Mission. Bhajans, satsangs, recorded discourses by Dada J.P. Vaswani and Sadhu Vaswani, and service activities marked the celebrations.

The highlight of the program included the much-awaited Modi Khana where devotees make purchases of grains which are distributed among poor and needy families. Modi Khana has been an annual feature at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission in remembrance of the practice done by the Great Sikh Guru – Guru Nanak.

The celebrations of Guru Nanak Jayanti also known as Guru Purab commenced with morning prayers.

In the afternoon session, devotees gathered from across the city and beyond and joined in the bhajans and kirtans sung in the invocation of Guru Nanak. The chorus of Waheguru, Waheguru echoed aloud at the Satsang Hall of the Mission.

A recorded discourse of Revered Dada J.P. Vaswani gave devotees an insight into the divine life of Guru Nanak. In his message, he spoke about the one teaching which the Great Guru emphasized – humility. Everything belongs to the Lord, even the body and soul, so we should not be egoistic but adopt a humble way of life. Guru Nanak was the picture of humility.

Immediately after Revered Dada’s message, the Modi Khana began. Queuing up to make purchases, every devotee awaited their turn and offered their purchase at the feet of the Master. The total proceeds for the Modi Khana amounted to Rs. 2,55,000/-.

“Through the Modikhana we get an opportunity to serve. If we were to look for the poor and needy, it might not be easy and practical. We feel blessed that we are able to reach out to so many at one time,” said Mrs. Dharmani, an attendee.

“Giving the basket of rations was a very moving and touching experience. It feels good to make someone happy. The thought that someone’s grocery needs would be met through this is overwhelming. ” shared Mr. Shah from Malaysia.

Following the Modi Khana, the session came to a conclusion with a prayer followed by the guru langar – fellowship meals where devotees partook in the cherished prasad.

In the evening session, a recorded discourse of Sadhu Vaswani was broadcast. The day concluded with bhajan and kirtan sessions till midnight.

On this day, groceries and hygiene essentials consisting of sugar 1 kg, tea ¼, sooji 1kg, besan 1kg, chole ½ kg, chavli ½ kg, tur dal 1 kg, moong dal 1 kg, rajma 1/2 kg, matki 1/2 kg, moong 1/2 kg, kala chana 1/2 kg, sabudana 1 kg, peanuts 1 kg, sevaiya 1 packet, bath soap 2, washing soap 2, dishwashing soap 2, coconut oil 1, toothpaste 1, solapuri chaddar 2, blankets 2, mat 1, towels 2, and napkins 2 were distributed to 130 needy families.
