SB20 Worlds Championship 2024-Day 1

DUBAI: The highly anticipated kick-off for the SB20 World Championships at Dubai Offshore Sailing Club (DOSC) has been postponed due to unforeseen weather conditions in the region.

The sailing race Championship will now begin on 13th February at 11:00 A.M

Skippers Briefing will start at 9:00 AM and our race director will continue to lead the events at the location.

SSL Gold Cup 1/4 Finals Witness Tough and Tempestuous Golden Day

SPAIN: Sailing has its own World Cup, and the SSL Gold Cup is designed to crown the best sailing nation of all. The World’s Top 56 countries, selected on their SSL Nation ranking, battled their way through to raise the coveted and only Sailing World Cup trophy. The 1/4 Finals started calmly but came to a crescendo early on Thursday in Gran Canaria.

The golden double points finale started in the highest, gustiest, and shiftiest winds seen so far in the SSL Gold Cup, but settled into a more stable rhythm soon after. In the evening at the 1/4 Finals Closing Ceremony, Regatta Director Paul Hutton-Ashkenny summed up the feeling of everyone by saying that each round had incredible drama, only to be surprised when the next round surpasses it. The semifinals promise to bring even more excitement on Saturday.

The SSL Gold Cup is the football world cup of sailing, and the 1/2 Finals of the Finals series start on Saturday, December 2nd, at 12 pm GMT local time. The full report for the 4th day of the 1/4 Finals is available, along with the full results, on the SSL Gold Cup website.

The Rowing Squad – Mirabaud Baselhead Regatta 2022Episode 1

SWITZERLAND: On the occasion of the Mirabaud Baselhead 2022 regatta, the Group launched the ROWING SQUAD with the aim of supporting a crew of young female competitors in this very intense sport, which requires three training sessions per day. The ROWING SQUAD – a spin-off of The SAILING SQUAD launched by Mirabaud in 2021 – is an exciting documentary series: over two episodes, viewers can follow the 8 talented female rowers, all members of the Swiss national team, as they prepare for the “regatta” in central Basel, Switzerland.

Among these girls, several are preparing for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The team is motivated to win the 6.4 km chase, which takes 100 crews from 10 nations under three bridges and is witnessed by spectators all along the way. During the preparation, the ROWING SQUAD goes through a journey of incredible team spirit, hard work, sometimes questioning, but above all, a lot of passion.

Episode #1: “BUILDING A WINNING TEAM”

Sofia Meakin, former world rowing champion, recently underwent surgery on both arms. She is still recovering. Will she make it back into the Swiss national team on time? What will be the coach’s strategy to build a winning team for the race?

Episode #2: “THE RACE”

This is the day. The 6.4 km race starts upstream in the center of Basel, makes a 180° turn, and returns downstream. Will the ROWING SQUAD be able to cope with the changing conditions? Get on board with the team and follow their adventure “from the inside”.
