PUNE: YUG Foundation, in collaboration with vConstruct CSR, has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a record for donating the highest number of sanitary napkins in the shortest time at Anjuman E Islam School, Bund Garden, Pune. A staggering 40 thousand sanitary napkins were distributed in just 27.02 seconds, This record is officially recognized by the Maharashtra Book of Records.

The adjudication of this record was conducted by Dr. Mahesh Thorwe, Director of MIT WP University, along with the esteemed panel comprising Dr. Mahiboob Sayyad, Working President of the Maharashtra Book of Records, Sneha Kulkarni, Secretary, Satish Rathod, Vice President, and Samrudhi Chavhan.

This feat was achieved as part of the “Give Her Confidence” campaign, a flagship initiative of vConstruct CSR in partnership with Yug Foundation, launched in 2019. The campaign aims to address menstrual health and hygiene issues among underprivileged school girls, educating them about proper hygiene practices during their menstrual cycle and dispelling associated stigmas and myths. Annually, vConstruct Pvt Ltd donates approximately 2 lakh sanitary napkins as part of this campaign, alongside conducting menstrual health and hygiene awareness sessions, demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility.

vConstruct Pvt Ltd is a Pune-based construction engineering and technology company that provides technical expertise and support to the global construction industry. Manoj Deshmukh, serving as the Operations and CSR head at vConstruct Pvt Ltd, emphasizes the company’s commitment to societal well-being by addressing menstrual hygiene and awareness through the “Give Her Confidence” initiative, a collaborative effort with their mobilization partner, Yug Foundation. Over the past four years, we have conducted awareness sessions and distributed annual packages of sanitary napkins in PMC and government-aided schools. Notably, we have set a record for delivering the highest number of packages in the shortest time, showcasing the efficacy of our initiative. This acknowledgment further motivates us to persist in our diligent efforts for the betterment of society.
