Telangana Governor Inaugurates Narayan Seva Sansthan’s Free Modular Limb Fitment Camp (815 Narayan Limbs Distributed)

HYDERABAD: A mega free Narayan Modular Artificial Limb and Caliper Fitment Camp, along with a Bhamashah Felicitation Ceremony, was organized by Narayan Seva Sansthan at Exhibition Grounds, Hyderabad, in collaboration with CSR partners Make a Change Foundation (UK), Golden Jubilee, and Shree Swaminarayan Temple Willesden (UK).

The camp was graced by Chief Guest Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla, Governor of Telangana, and Guest of Honour Shri T. G. Bharath, Minister of Industries and Commerce, Andhra Pradesh.

During the camp, 815 Narayan Modular artificial limbs and calipers were provided free of cost to 745 differently-abled individuals. Some beneficiaries received lower limbs, some upper limbs, while others were fitted with multiple limbs. Steps that had been halted for years began moving again, and faces once filled with despair now reflected confidence and joy. The camp witnessed several emotional moments- some beneficiaries played football for the first time with their new legs, while others experienced independence by drinking water with their newly fitted hands.

Chief Guest, Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, expressed his emotions, stating, “Today’s scenes reflect the true victory of humanity. Narayan Seva Sansthan has taken service to remarkable heights. Watching the Divyang parade, I could not hold myself back and personally greeted and encouraged them. Under the leadership of Prashant Agarwal, this work is an inspiration for the entire nation and the world.”

He also extended his best wishes to all beneficiaries and assured full support from Raj Bhavan.

Guest of Honour, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Industries and Commerce T. G. Bharath, said, “This initiative of Narayan Seva Sansthan is a powerful example of empowering differently-abled individuals and integrating them into the mainstream of society. This is not just service, but a life-transforming mission.”

He also announced plans to organize a similar camp in his constituency.

Social worker Satya Bhushan Jain, Patron Alka Choudhary, Trustee & Director Devendra Choubisa, and PR Head Bhagwan Prasad Gaur welcomed the dignitaries in traditional Mewari style.

The program commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting. The Governor interacted with beneficiaries, witnessed their parade, and also learned about the German technology used in manufacturing the artificial limbs. Telangana MLC Boggur Dayanand also visited the camp and appreciated the organization’s efforts.

Providing details, Trustee & Director Devendra Choubisa said that over 1,000 Disabled individuals had registered during the selection camp held on February 1, out of which 745 beneficiaries were served in this camp. He added that the expert team successfully fitted advanced Narayan Modular limbs and also trained beneficiaries in their usage and maintenance. Free meals, refreshments, and tea were arranged for all attendees.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Patron Alka Choudhary. Hundreds of donors, including Rahul Khanna, Mahendra Agarwal, Govind Rathi, Ashok Pamrecha, Mahendra Golcha of Vardhman Bank, and Prem Prakash Singhvi, were felicitated. The event was anchored by Mahim Jain.

Notably, Narayan Seva Sansthan has been dedicated to selfless service since 1985. Its founder, Kailash Manav, has been honored with the Padma Shri, while President Prashant Agarwal received the President’s Award in 2023.

So far, the organization has provided free artificial limbs to over 39,591 differently-abled individuals and has offered free medical treatment to more than 452,000 beneficiaries.

MUMBAI: Reinforcing its commitment to capacity building and citizen-centric governance, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) successfully concluded the three-day Master Trainer Program on July 9, 2025, at Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi, under Phase-2 of the Rashtriya Karmayogi Seva-Bhav Training, a key initiative of the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) under the larger Mission Karmayogi framework.

The program trained 28 nominated officers from MSDE’s field institutions, including DGT, RDSDEs, NSTIs, NIMI, CSTARI, and NCVET, as Master Trainers. These officers were trained by Shri Pritam Dutta, Director, MSDE, and Shri T. Ragulan, Director, CSTARI, both of whom were empanelled as Lead Trainers by CBC in May 2025.

Over three intensive days, the training equipped officers with tools to foster a spirit of Seva-Bhav (spirit of service), promote purpose-driven public service, and deepen inter-institutional collaboration. Designed around four structured modules, the training focused on realigning mindsets, encouraging inter-departmental cooperation, and strengthening the sense of accountability among officials. Through case discussions, peer-sharing, and reflective dialogue, participants explored how they could contribute more meaningfully to public service delivery.

These 28 officers will now act as catalysts for change by conducting one-day Seva-Bhav workshops in their respective field institutions, ensuring the message of citizen-first service percolates to every official across the MSDE ecosystem.

Reflecting on the session, Shri Rajit Punhani, Secretary, MSDE, stated, “The Rashtriya Karmayogi Seva-Bhav training is a vital step towards building a more responsive, empathetic, and citizen-first administration. It goes beyond technical capacity to nurture purpose-driven governance. By instilling the spirit of service among officials, we are not only improving public service delivery but also shaping a future-ready, values-based workforce aligned with our national vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.”

During the closing session, Ms. Trishaljit Sethi, Director General (Training), and Ms. Hena Usman, Joint Secretary, MSDE, addressed the participants and highlighted the strategic importance of this training in shaping an empathetic, responsive, and mission-oriented workforce. They also interacted with the participants, appreciating their feedback and commitment to implementing the Seva-Bhav ethos at grassroots levels.

Part of the larger Mission Karmayogi framework, this training aims to foster a deep sense of Seva-Bhav (spirit of service) among central government officials by shifting focus from routine tasks to purpose-driven public service.

With the successful completion of this phase, MSDE continues to lead the transformation of governance culture through sustained investments in human capital development, paving the way for an empowered and service-oriented bureaucracy.

“It’s her birthday, but I’m happy” (“Birthday toh unka hai, par happy main hoon!”) — Young Vignesh’s Words Capture the Heart of the worldwide birthday Seva initiatives.

PUNE: Sadhu Vaswani Mission observed the birthday celebrations of its revered global head, Didi Krishna Kumari, with an outpouring of sevas across the globe. Embracing ideals of compassion and service, Mission’s worldwide centers organized a wide range of humanitarian activities aimed at alleviating suffering and bringing comfort to those in need.

In Pune, home to the Mission’s global headquarters, various sevas were carried out to support those in need. These included aid to the blind and the donation of artificial limbs to 22 individuals. Among them was nine-year-old Vignesh, who had lost mobility in both legs at the age of six. He and his father journeyed from Karnataka. As he waited in the queue, Vignesh was seen watching Instagram reels of Didi Krishna Kumari on his father’s phone. Having received his new limb, he said, “Birthday toh unka hai, par happy main hoon!” (It’s her birthday, but I am happy) He added that he could now finally take part in the sports he loved and would no longer feel left out.

Additional initiatives included morning community meals, cow seva, educational support for 60 adopted children through school supplies like school bags & stationery kits, and distribution of books, stationery, and joy packets to 100 more children. 115 underprivileged families received clothing, while poor patients at the Government Hospital were provided with multi-purpose bags, biscuit packets, and bananas, helping hundreds across the city.

The Mission and the centers organized free and concessional medical services, including health and dental checkups, blood tests, dialysis, urological and eye check-ups, and free eye cataract surgeries.

In Mumbai, the youth wing ‘Bridge Builders’ stepped out into the sweltering summer heat to distribute cooling drinks to workforces toiling under the sun and to the staff of the B.E.S.T buses, offering them a refreshing moment.

In Bangalore, the Mission reached out to 60 slum families, offering them dinner, school bags, ration kits, and essential medicines.

In Chennai, the Mission observed cow seva, distributed medicines and rations to 60 girls at a local ashram, and provided artificial limbs to the physically challenged — a wide-ranging expression of compassion for all life.

The spirit of seva extended beyond Indian borders. In Abidjan, West Africa, injections were donated to the pediatric cancer ward of a hospital in Treichville.

These acts were tributes of love, inspired by the life of a woman spiritual leader, Didi Krishna Kumari, whose life continues to inspire selfless action and universal compassion. Her dynamism makes her a role model for countless seekers.

Didi Krishna undertakes meditations and conducts spiritual camps, helping people integrate spirituality into daily life. Through her unwavering commitment, she continues to spread the message of her Master’s, touching lives across the globe, guiding many on the path of love, faith, and service.

PUNE: Former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh General Secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi remarked on Saturday that Seva or Service cannot be planned and has to be done or offered voluntarily.

“Nobody can retire while doing or offering Seva (Service) and nobody can wait for the necessary facilities for giving Seva (Service). The feeling of giving to someone is important while doing Seva. Seva cannot be planned and has to be done voluntarily after one sees the plight and suffering of people with the intention of changing their lives,” Bhaiyyaji Joshi said.

Bhaiyyaji Joshi delivered the key-note address on the topic “Indian Perspective of Seva” during “Seva Tarang” a two-day Maharashtra-level conference of voluntary organizations, organized by Sevavardhini, at Mahatma Phule Sanskrutik Bhawan in Wanowarie.

MLA Sunil Kamble, Honorary President of Sevavardhini Dr. Pramod Chaudhari, Sevavardini executive president Kishor Desai, industrialist Sudhir Mehta, Yogita Apte, Mandar Pophale, Saurabh Dhanorkar of Persistent Foundation, Praj Foundation and Mukul Madhav Foundation respectively and Sevavardhini secretary Somdatta Patwardhan, among others were present on the occasion.

“The outlook of people is important while doing Seva (Service). People should offer service with the feeling that it is their duty and should not do it for the sake of publicity. The satisfaction on people’s faces is very crucial while giving Seva and that should be the only focus. One of the challenges in front of us is how the seekers can become donors,” Bhaiyyaji Joshi said.

Dr. Pramod Chaudhari said Sevavardhini should initiate a four or five-way test for voluntary organizations, which will help the organization to become a national-level brand.

“Sevavardhini has guided thousands of voluntary organizations in Maharashtra. There are different phases in the life cycle of an organization and hence the role of Sevavardhini is important, which guides every part including Governance. Sevardhini plays the role of a LightHouse. Sevavardhini is also thinking about how to give accreditation to various organizations and enable them to the social stock exchange. I am optimistic that Sevavardhini’s work will help the country while it is celebrating 75 years of independence,” Dr. Chaudhari said.

Sunil Kamble said Sevardhini is giving direction to society through its work and assured to help the organization.

Sudhir Mehta said the country’s politicians and bureaucrats cannot alone change the country and the role of voluntary organizations, and education institutions is equally important and all of them together can change the country.

“In Pune, when COVID-19 started, we had 3,000 beds, which later increased to 28,000. Of these 90 percent of beds were managed by voluntary organizations. All the voluntary organizations also provided meals to the needy. This showed that if all work together, we can show the world what the country can do,” Mehta said.

A Souvenir, comprising the work done by Sevardhini in the last 25 years, was also released on the occasion.

The inaugural session was moderated by Sevavardhini joint secretary Manik Damle.
