After experiencing some attractions like Time Machin at the second phase of Shivsrushti, a theme park on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, CM Devendra Phadnavis said, “I am speechless. I have seen many high-tech theme parks but the the amount of involvement and inspiration that I could draw at Shivsrushti today is beyond words. We always tend to identify Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as a warrior King. However, it is heartening to see some other humanitarian aspects of Shivaji Maharaj and his connection with the people through 3 core principles that were dear to him including Swadesh, Swadharma, and Swabhasha.”

“Though the Government of Maharashtra has recognized Shivsrushti as a mega tourism project, I feel that it is not merely a tourism project. It is a place that inspires you, a place where you study and understand different aspects of Chhatrapati’s personality. Central Government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi has officially granted the status of a Classical Language to Marathi and has acknowledged Marathi’s deep historical roots and its role in shaping the nation’s cultural identity. It was Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who first took the lead in making Marathi the official language of the Maratha Kingdom by making a successful attempt to free it from the influence of the Arabi and Farsi languages. Unless we have a patriotic young generation that understands the history of the country, we as a country can not progress in the right direction. So, PM Modi has given the Vikas Bhi – Virasat Bhi concept to us. I feel projects like Shivsrushti will play a significant role in this regard“, CM Devendra Phadnavis added.

Jagdish Kadam, Trustee of Maharaja Shivchhtrapati Pratishthan said that the 3rd phase has been developed with an investment of Rs.87 Cr. It has many attractions like Time Machine Theatre, Replica of Tulja Bhavani Temple at Pratapgad, and a massive welcome hall with large portraits of Shivaji Maharaj which are the prints of high-resolution images of original paintings of Shivaji Maharaj from different museums around the world. The idol of Goddess Tulja Bhavani is created under the guidance of Dr. G. B. Deglurkar.

During this meeting, an urging invitation on behalf of the foundation was extended to Chief Minister Patel to visit Shivsrushti.”

“This donation will be utilized in the development of the second phase of Shivsrushti including the Goddess Bhavani Temple in Pratapgad, Rangmandal, Gangasagar, etc. It will also have a hall that would provide detailed information about the progress towards the concept of ‘Swarajya’ in the last 350 years, including the restoration of temples, the work done by the next generations, etc”, Kuber further added. He also informed that the foundation would put in all efforts to finish the formation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Rajsabha as well.

PUNE: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday emphasized that the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was a ‘thought’ and an inspiration to all as the Warrior King always led from the front and laid the foundation of ‘Swaraj’.

Shah on the occasion of ‘Shiv Jayanti’ (Birth Anniversary) inaugurated the first phase of ‘Shivsrushti’, a historical theme-park, on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, at Narhe-Ambegaon, Pune. The project, which is spread over 21 acres of land, was conceptualized by Padma Vibhushan awardee ‘Shivshahir’ Babasaheb Purandare which is now being developed by Maharaja Shivchatrapati Pratishthan.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Higher Education Minister and Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil, Tourism Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha, MLA Shivendra Raje Bhosale, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Western Maharashtra chief Nanaji Jadhav, RSS Western Maharashtra secretary Pravin Dabadgoan, trustees of Maharaja Shivchatrapati Pratishthan including Jagdish Kadam and Vineet Kuber were present on the occasion.

Amit Shah inaugurated the first phase’s key element – Sarkarwada – a magnificent main structure reflecting the architecture of the 17th century. ‘Sarkarwada’ comprises exhibition galleries including ‘Durg Vaibhav’, Ranangan’, ‘Escape from Agra’, ‘Enemies of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’, ‘Coronation of Shivaji Maharaj’, and a section where visitors can hear Shivaji Maharaj using MAD Mapping technology. Guardian Media Entertainment is involved in the development of this theme park.

“I believe that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is not a name but a thought. It is thought to dedicate life to swaraj (self-rule), it is thought to live for ‘Swadharma’ and it is thought to live for ‘Swabhasha’. The life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is not the life of a king, but a thought and is an inspiration to all,” Amit Shah said.

“He always led from the front. And the incidents involving Afzal Khan, and Shahiste Khan are an example of it. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj laid the foundation of Swaraj and then worked towards ‘Suraj’ by forming an ‘Ashta Pradhan Mandal’. He also founded the Navy and introduced irrigation for farmers. He also laid the foundation of a village-based economy,” Shah said.

According to Shah, Shivaji Maharaj started the restoration of temples, a tradition, which was continued by his successors and is undertaken by the current government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“I bow before Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for his contribution towards the country, Swaraj (self-rule), and religion. Today is an important and historic day for all his followers, as the dream of Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare, gets fulfilled. It is also a matter of pride for me to inaugurate the first phase. There cannot be a bigger day than Shiv Jayanti to inaugurate it. When all four phases will be complete, the life of Shivaji Maharaj will be showcased with a sense of pride, before the world,” he said.

“This (Shivsrushti) will be Asia’s largest theme park, which has a perfect blend of historical facts and technology. Work will not stop on the project. I am confident that the project will complete on time,” he asserted.

Shah also paid glorious tributes to late Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare, who spent his life, spreading the life and times of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and recalling his work.

Devendra Fadnavis said, “Today is a very pleasing occasion that on such an auspicious day, the first phase of Shivshrushti is being inaugurated by Amit Shah, who has done research on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and is writing a book on his life.”

Terming Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as a “Management Guru”, Fadnavis said, “Shivashrusti is an important project which reflects on the life and times of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, which will inspire the youth and other visitors. I assure you all support for the entire project.”

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a follower of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and when he was named as Prime Ministerial candidate in 2014, he first visited Raigad fort to seek inspiration and blessings of this great Maratha warrior,” Fadnavis recalled.

Eknath Shinde said, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj worked for the people and his work is well-known. He was an excellent administrator and his life is an inspiration. We are following the ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj while governing. I am confident that the entire project will be completed on time and with good speed. It is our responsibility to fulfill Babasaheb Purandare’s dream. Anyone who visits this project will get inspired. We will also take all efforts to restore the forts in the state”.

Jagdish Kadam gave the introductory remarks and said that Pratishthan intends to complete the second phase by next year and all four phases in the next three years. He also mentioned that the state government is all set to extend financial support to the tune of Rs. 50 Cr. The inauguration program was moderated by actor Rahul Solapurkar, while Vineet Kuber proposed the vote of thanks.

PUNE: The life and times of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be unfolded for history lovers in a unique audio-visual manner using state-of-art technology, with the opening of the first phase of ‘Shivasrushti’, a historical theme park, which was a dream of Padma Bhushan awardee late Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare.

The first phase of Shivsrushti, which is the largest theme park in Asia, has been completed and it will be open to visitors a day after it will be formally inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on February 19 – ‘Shiv Jayanti’. The project was conceptualized by Babasaheb Purandare, who had formed the Maharaja Shivchhatrapati Pratishthan for its execution. The information regarding completion and inauguration was shared by Pratishthan trustees Jagdish Kadam, and Vineet Kuber during a media conference in presence of ‘Shivasrushti’ administrator Anil Pawar.

Shah will inaugurate the first phase’s key element – Sarkarwada – a magnificent main structure reflecting the architecture of the 17th century. ‘Sarkarwada’ comprises exhibition galleries including ‘DurgVaibhav’, where stories about different forts like Devgiri, Purandar, Vishalgad, Panhalgad, Rajgad, Pratapgad, Sindhudurg, and Sinhagad would be unfolded through an audio-visual medium. ‘Sarkarwada’ also features a section titled ‘Escape from Agra’, where visitors will be able to witness the historical tale of how Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his son Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje left Agra. The story is narrated with the use of 3D technology.

Another feature of the theme park is that the visitors would be able to listen to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj through mad mapping technology. The story of his coronation will also be unfolded in a special section. Two other exhibition galleries ‘Ranangan’, where an array of weapons used during the times of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, have been displayed, and ‘Enemies of Shivaji Maharaj’ are an added attraction for the visitors in ‘Sarkarwada. ‘Sarkarwada’ also houses an administrative center, research library, and multipurpose hall.

The overall expenditure of the theme park, which is being created in four phases, is Rs 438 crore and donations worth Rs 60 crore have been received for the first phase of the project. The funds collected through over 12,000 lectures given by Babasaheb Purandare and through the plays of ‘Janata Raja’ have also been utilized for the project.

The next phases will see Shivsrushti having elements like ‘Raj Sabha’, and ‘Rang Mandal’, which will have an inbuilt auditorium, screening the history of the Sahyadri mountain range and pre-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj era through audio-visuals, ‘Bhavani Mata temple’ on Pratapgad, ‘Rajwada’, ‘Machi’, ‘Attraction Centre’, ‘Konkan’ and ‘Amphitheatre’. They will be completed in the near future. Visitors can experience a day-long trip at the theme park, which is coming up on 21 acres of land.

Kadam also informed that Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Rajya Sabha MP Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhosale, Pune Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil, Maharashtra Tourism Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha and BJP Maharashtra President Chandrashkhar Bawankule, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Western Maharashtra chief Nanaji Jadhav will also be present for the inauguration function.

The Prathishthan was formed in 1967 by the late Chhatrapati Rajmata Sumitraraje Bhosale of Satara and the late Chhatrapati Maharaj Shreemant Pratapsingh Raje Bhosale. 300 years after Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation ceremony in 1974, Maharaja Shivchhatrapati Pratishthan organized huge programs and exhibitions at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. Then the ‘Shivasrushti’ project commenced in 1998-99, with the aim of unfolding the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The entry ticket for ‘Shivasrushti’ is Rs 350 including taxes and it can be booked online.
