MUMBAI: Škoda Auto India has launched the all-new Slavia Monte Carlo edition in India. Taking the sports theme further, the company also introduced an all-new Sportline range within the Kushaq and Slavia lineup and announced a path-breaking offer for these cars upping the value and choice quotient for Indian customers.

The anniversary offer

As the launch of this all-new range marks the 112th anniversary of the company’s debut at Rallye Monte Carlo, Škoda Auto India has lined up benefits for customers buying the sport-inspired Monte Carlo and Sportline range of the Kushaq and Slavia. The first 5,000 customers booking any of these four cars will receive benefits of ₹30,000. The offer is operational immediately and will be valid until September 6, 2024.

Monte Carlo in the metal

At the heart of this car beats the proven and tested 1.0 and 1.5 TSI engines. The 1.0 TSI is available with a six-speed manual and automatic. The 1.5 TSI sends power to the front wheels through a seven-speed DSG. The cars come exclusively in the Tornado Red and Candy White colors. Both these options come with a contrasting Deep Black roof as standard. The Window Garnish houses an all-black theme as do the ORVMs. The black treatment continues to the Radiator Grille Surround, the Garnish around the Fog Lamp, and over the Black R16 Alloy wheels.

Continuing the subtle embellishments are the Monte Carlo badging on the front fenders and the Darkened Taillights. Sporty, black spoilers adorn the car’s front and side skirts and are also on the lip of the boot at the rear. The rear also gets a Black Sporty Rear Diffuser and a Black Bumper Garnish. Rounding off the Monte Carlo highlights outside are the subtle and classy door handles finished in Dark Chrome and all the lettering in the exteriors of the Slavia Monte Carlo are in Black.

Monte Carlo within

Inside, the car wears the Monte Carlo Red Theme interior in the all-black sporty cabin. The Décor Frame and air vents all adorn black. As do the Lower dashboard, the Centre Console Décor, and the Handbrake push button. The steering wheel and gear knob replace their chrome inserts with all-black ones. The dark, sporty theme allaying Škoda Auto’s rally roots, continues in the rest of the interior with the handles all taking on a dark demeanour.

To lend the black interiors with dashes of sporty dynamism are subtle slashes of red across the interiors. The center of the dash has a single red element continuing through the vents. The Monte Carlo Leatherette seats in Black are bordered by red elements. The two-spoke steering wheel also has red stitching on it, and the black and red Monte Carlo Theme extends to the infotainment system and the driver’s virtual cockpit. However, the first visual homage before entering this sporty cabin is the Monte Carlo inscribed scuff plates by the front doors. The driver will immediately notice the Sporty Alu Pedals in the footwell area as they stand out in this red and black Monte Carlo-themed décor.

The Sportline

Škoda Auto India also expanded the Kushaq and Slavia range with the debut of the Sportline across the two best-selling Škoda cars. In a move that is the result of customer feedback, Škoda Auto India has now introduced the Sportline, which adds to the existing Classic, Signature, Monte Carlo, and Prestige variants of the Kushaq and Slavia furthering choice and value for customers.

The enhancements

The Sportline trim of both the Kushaq and the Slavia gets the blacked-out design elements from the Monte Carlo like the taillights, aero kit, and other details. The Slavia Sportline gets R16 Black alloy wheels and the Kushaq is shod with R17 Black alloys. The Sportline also gets LED Headlamps and DRLs in both the Kushaq and Slavia

Features within

The Sportline, like the rest of the Kushaq and Slavia line-up, comes standard with six airbags. In addition, this sporty trim gets an electric sunroof, alloy foot pedals, a connectivity dongle, rain-sensing wipers, and an auto-dimming internal rear-view mirror among various other features.  

Enhanced choice and safety

With the addition of the Sportline, the Kushaq and Slavia range further expands with both cars now available in the Classic, Signature, Sportline, Monte Carlo, and Prestige variants. Every Škoda comes standard with a minimum of six airbags. Further, the Kushaq and the Slavia have a full 5-star rating for adult and child safety under Global NCAP. The Superb and the Kodiaq are rated the same under Euro NCAP. With the addition of the Slavia Monte Carlo and the Sportline trim across the Kushaq and Slavia, Škoda Auto India has further expanded its fleet of 5-star safe cars.

Speaking on the enhancement, Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said: “We have been in India for nearly a quarter of a century, and our commitment to this market is absolute. The variants

The Kushaq and Slavia – earlier available as Active, Ambition, and Style – are now rechristened as Classic, Signature, and Prestige. The Kushaq, in addition to these three variants also gets the Onyx on the value end and the Monte Carlo at the premium end of the line-up. The all-new pricing is applicable on all engine and transmission options of the Kushaq and select variants on the Slavia. Both cars are powered by a 1.0 TSI petrol with a six-speed manual and automatic, and a 1.5 TSI petrol with a six-speed manual and seven-speed DSG. Both the Kushaq and Slavia come with six airbags as standard across the range and have achieved a full 5 stars for adults and children under the Global NCAP tests, reflecting the brand’s uncompromising stand on safety.

The benefits

Customers stand to benefit by upto 10% based on choice of model, variants, engines, and transmission. The maximum benefit will be on the Kushaq Monte Carlo, which will now be offered at an outstanding price point, while the Slavia entry point will be extremely accessible. These new prices also enable customers and fans to avail additional reductions in registration and insurance further stretching the value proposition for the entire line-up.

Škoda Auto India recently introduced six airbags as standard across all its variants. The new pricing continues making safety a top priority and offers premium features like ventilated seats, electric seat adjust, wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a 25.4 cm in-car entertainment interface, and a sub-woofer embedded in the boot among other comforts.

More sustainable

The company’s 1.0 TSI engine recently got certified as E20 compliant by ARAI (Automotive Research Authority of India) and has already debuted in the new Kushaq Onyx AT with other 1.0 TSI cars to roll out soon. The 1.5 TSI is currently undergoing testing, the results of which will be made available by Q4 2024.

This certification makes the 1.0 TSI the first ever powerplant in India to receive certification from a governing authority. It is in line with government policy requiring every car in India to be E20 compliant from April 1, 2025. Engines that are E20 compliant run on 20% ethanol and 80% petrol, reducing the amount of fossil fuel consumed, reducing emissions, and increasing sustainability.

MUMBAI: In what is its first product action after achieving one lakh sales in two years, Škoda Auto India has introduced the Slavia Style Edition of its best-selling, five-star safe, crash-tested sedan.

Speaking on the product, Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said: “The Slavia Style Edition is yet another instance of us listening to our discerning customers and offering an extremely exclusive, yet high-value product for our customers. It comes in very limited numbers, for a very focussed set of our customers, but will be accessible across our 200-plus sales touchpoints across India.”

The equipment

The Style Edition is slotted above the top-of-the-line Style variant of the Slavia. It comes standard with features like a Dual Dash Camera. It hosts an ‘Edition’ badge on the blacked-out B-pillars, black mirror covers and a Black Roof Foil. Inside, customers are greeted by a ‘Slavia’ branded Scuff Plate with the steering carrying an ‘Edition’ badge. Stepping out of the car will reveal a Puddle Lamp with the Brand Logo Projection.

The exclusivity

Škoda Auto India will launch 500 units of the Style Edition of the Slavia. All 500 will come exclusively with the 1.5 TSI engine mated to the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Each of these 500 cars will also be adorned only with the Candy White or Brilliant Silver or Tornado Red paint options, as these shades have been specifically selected to contrast with the exclusive black elements on the roof and ORVMs of this Slavia. This Edition x all of its exclusivity and additional features is priced at a reasonable premium of ₹30,000 over the equivalent Style variant of the Slavia sedan.

Safety

The Slavia Style Edition carries forward the safety legacy of the Slavia coming standard with six airbags and a full 5-star rating for adult and child safety under Global NCAP’s newer, stricter test protocols. It further lengthens the company’s fleet of fully crash-tested 5-star-rated cars for adult and child occupants.

Made-for-India. Ready for the world

The Slavia sedan, like the Kushaq SUV, is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform that was developed specifically for the Indian market. The platform was jointly developed by teams in India and Czech with a focus on low maintenance costs, high localisation and quick turnaround times for service and spares, while retaining the traditional qualities of Škoda DNA like driving dynamics and safety, among others. The car is localised by upto 95% and comes with a standard warranty of 4 years or 100,000 kms and an optional warranty of upto 8 years or 150,000 kms with a plethora of maintenance and service packages to enhance the ownership experience and lower maintenance costs for the customer.
