<p><strong>INDIA:</strong> In-vehicle tire noise is an unwelcome intrusion that can travel through chassis components, such as control arms and dampers. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), ZF is presenting its new &#8220;Active Noise Reduction&#8221; software function, which reduces this type of noise at the source without additional noise-dampening hardware in the vehicle. The purely software-based function for the chassis significantly minimizes annoying tire noise in the interior. In the future, the technology group will expand the use of the function to other ZF chassis actuators.</p>



<p>The software-based solution uses ZF’s Smart Chassis Sensor with an integrated acceleration sensor to precisely measure vibrations transmitted from the tires to the vehicle via the chassis. The vibration data is analyzed using a specially developed algorithm that recognizes the characteristic noise patterns of tire cavity noise (typically around 200 hertz). The software then generates a counter-signal provided by ZF’s cubiX software via the valves of semi-active dampers (CDC). The function uses micro-movements of the damper to specifically reduce the noise interference without impairing the actual damper function.</p>



<p>&#8220;<em>Active Noise Reduction is an excellent example of how we use smart algorithms to make ZF components even more efficient. This gives our semi-active CDC dampers a clear, unique selling point in the market and sets new standards in comfort – without the need for any additional noise-dampening hardware,</em>&#8221; says <strong>Dr. Peter Holdmann, member of the ZF Board of Management and head of Division Chassis</strong> Solutions.</p>



<p>Intelligent dampers, brilliant quietness: this is what the future of chassis technology sounds like</p>



<p>The achievement of noise reduction is implemented purely on a software basis through intelligent control of the CDC dampers – without additional installation costs or space requirements. The current version of the technology achieves noise reductions of more than 3 dB today, which is a clearly audible difference for passengers. Up to 10 dB is possible in the future.</p>



<p>Active Noise Reduction can be adapted to different vehicle types and customer requirements via software. This creates a new market, particularly for lower-priced vehicles, as high-quality acoustic solutions with microphones or speakers have mostly been available only in luxury segments. Approximately 40 percent of all semi-active dampers worldwide already come from ZF, making the technology group the market leader. In view of the trend toward automated driving, ZF expects sales in this area to increase.</p>



<p><strong>Active Noise Reduction is part of Chassis 2.0</strong></p>



<p>Series production of Active Noise Reduction is scheduled to start in 2028. In the future, the software function may also be used in other ZF actuators — for example, for active reduction of brake squeal or in the fully active damping system sMOTION.</p>



<p>&#8220;<em>Thanks to our system expertise, we can offer our mechatronic actuators as true innovation drivers with the help of smart algorithms, and we will extend our software-based control approach to other ZF actuators in the future. The goal for us is clear: mechatronic actuators that are capable of efficiently reducing both their own and external noise with the help of software</em>,&#8221; explains <strong>Holdmann</strong>.</p>



<p>&#8220;<em>The new function fits perfectly into ZF&#8217;s Chassis 2.0 product strategy. Chassis 2.0 uses intelligent and networkable actuators to enable new chassis functions via software. It combines intelligent actuators such as brakes, steering, and damping, scalable electronic architectures (E/E), and innovative software solutions into a highly integrated, flexible system. &#8220;With our Chassis 2.0, we are laying the foundation for the software-defined vehicl</em>e,&#8221; says <strong>Holdmann</strong>.</p>

<p>These models will be officially launched for public sale in August, following the inauguration of the company’s plant in Thoothukudi, with deliveries to follow subsequently.</p>



<p>Indian customers can now reserve their preferred VinFast electric SUV either at VinFast showrooms or through the company’s official website, <strong>VinFastAuto.in</strong>, with a fully refundable booking amount of <strong>INR 21,000</strong>.</p>



<p>Designed to deliver global-quality electric mobility solutions tailored for Indian roads and consumer needs, the VF 7 and VF 6 offer impressive real-world range on a single charge. <p><strong>PUNE:</strong> India’s most desirable luxury car maker, Mercedes-Benz, kick-started the Fiscal 25-26 with a best-ever sales performance, retailing 4238 new Mercedes-Benz cars in the April-June 2025 period, growing by 10%. The best-ever sales performance in Q1 FY 25-26 was achieved with robust demand for Core and Top-End Luxury vehicles. This sales momentum was also driven by a strong acceleration in the top-end luxury BEV portfolio, which has increased its penetration in the overall sales volume of Mercedes-Benz India.</p>



<p>The record sales performance was achieved despite microeconomic challenges, including forex fluctuations, price hikes, and market dynamics, including pricing challenges at the luxury entry segment. Mercedes-Benz’s success in the top-end luxury class indicates luxury customers’ growing preference for top-end, exclusive vehicles, underlining the growing penchant for hyper-personalization and premiumization, driven by desire and soaring aspirations of luxury customers.          </p>

<p><strong>Overwhelming demand for the Top-End Luxury segment:</strong></p>



<p>The key highlight for Mercedes-Benz India’s Q1 FY 25-26 sales was the overwhelming demand for the Top-End Luxury segment comprising the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, EQS product range, and the AMG range of performance vehicles. Top-End Luxury segment sales grew by 20% with strong demand for the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach Night Series, G 580 with EQ Technology, EQS SUV, and iconic AMG G 63.</p>



<p>While the limited AMG G 63 ‘Collector’s Edition’ has already witnessed an overwhelming response from G-Class aficionados, the recently launched AMG GT 63 PRO is already sold out for the remaining year. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>



<p><strong>Steady demand driving the ‘Core’ segment:</strong></p>



<p>Mercedes-Benz’s ‘Core’ segment continued to be a significant contributor to the company’s Q1 FY 25-26 sales. The Core segment that comprises C-Class, E-Class LWB sedans, the GLC and GLE SUVs continued its strong performance with 60% contribution to the overall sales volumes of Mercedes-Benz, growing by 10% in Q1 FY 25-26.</p>



<p>The unrivalled success of the E-Class LWB continued with the addition of the potent E450 performance variant, making the Long Wheelbase E-Class the highest-selling luxury car in India.</p>



<p>Similarly, the C-Class sedan, the GLC SUV, and the GLE SUV cemented their customer preferences and strong value proposition, retaining customer loyalty in their respective segments.</p>



<p><strong>Entry Luxury Segment:</strong></p>



<p>Mercedes-Benz ‘Entry Luxury’ portfolio offers products with high substance in respective segments, having a higher value proposition for luxury customers. In Q1 FY 25-26, Mercedes-Benz ‘Entry Luxury Segment’ marginally declined, in a segment thoroughly dominated by products at a lower price point and offers. Mercedes-Benz Entry Luxury products are feature-enriched, highlighting a value-oriented sales approach that successfully caters to the growing customer aspirations.  </p>



<p><strong>Top-End BEVs strongly drive Mercedes-Benz’s BEV growth: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p>



<p>Mercedes-Benz BEV portfolio grew by an outstanding 157% in Q1 FY 25-26, with an increased penetration of 8% of total sales. The BEV sales highlight a steady response to Mercedes-Benz’s electric products, with increased customer deliveries for the dynamic EQS 450 SUV. The BEV growth momentum was primarily driven by the ‘Top-End Luxury’ spectrum, with the highest ever demand for the EQS SUV, EQS Maybach Night Series and the stunning G 580 SUV with EQ Technology. The waiting period for the EQS Maybach and G 580 with EQ Technology extends up to 6 months.</p>

<p>The AMG sports pedals are made of brushed stainless steel with black rubber studs. The black floor mats with &#8220;AMG&#8221; lettering blend harmoniously with the interior design.</p>

<p>With the AMG Night Package, the GLS AMG Line has expressive, bold, black design elements enhancing the exterior of the SUV. <p class="has-text-align-center" style="font-size:24px"><em>Credit profiles are seen as stable despite inventory overhang and modest growth in realisations</em></p>



<p><strong>INDIA:</strong> The domestic passenger vehicle (PV) dealership industry will see revenue growth increase by ~100 basis points (bps) on-year, supported by a modest revival in sales volume even as realisations remain rangebound. While a tad better than last fiscal, growth has eased from the strong post-COVID-19 rebound seen up to fiscal 2024 as volume growth normalised.</p>



<p>The improvement in volume will benefit dealers in two ways. First, ancillary income will rise while promotions and discounts will reduce, lifting operating profitability to 3.2-3.4% after it fell 30-35 bps last fiscal. Second, elevated inventory levels from the last fiscal will moderate. That, and no major capex expected for showroom expansion, will reduce debt levels.</p>



<p>Consequently, the credit profiles of dealers will remain stable after moderating last fiscal from the healthy levels seen after the pandemic. A Crisil Ratings analysis of ~110 PV dealers, indicates as much.</p>



<p>Volume growth is pegged at 4-6%&nbsp;<em>(chart 1 in annexure)&nbsp;</em>this fiscal, with realisations expected to rise 3-4% backed by price increases by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and continuing tilt towards sports utility vehicles (SUVs). Consequently, dealers are expected to see high single-digit revenue growth with both the urban segment (constituting two-thirds of the annual demand) and the rural segment growing in tandem.</p>



<p>Says <strong>Himank Sharma, Director, Crisil Ratings, </strong>“<em>Increasing urban disposable incomes backed by revision in tax slabs, interest rate cuts and a benign inflation, and sustained popularity of SUVs, will fuel urban demand for PVs. In the rural segment, sales of small cars could see an uptick on expectations of a normal monsoon and improved farm incomes amid higher minimum support prices. Consequently, we see the industry growing at 7-9% this fiscal</em>.<em>”</em></p>



<p>Higher volumes will also lift ancillary revenues from sales of motor insurance and accessories. Also, services and spares revenues will benefit from the high PV sales seen from fiscals 2022 to 2024. All these are relatively higher-margin segments and will cumulatively contribute 11-13% of total revenues, compared with ~10% or lower during the past few fiscals.</p>



<p>With improved revenue visibility and a push towards high-margin businesses, discounts and promotions will be limited to the non-peak seasons instead of year-round seen last fiscal. This reduction in sales promotion costs should provide a 15-20 bps uptick to operating profit margins to 3.2-3.4% this fiscal.</p>



<p>Dealers saw their inventory rise to 50-55 days last fiscal from the normal 30-35 days as retail sales slowed and OEMs sent stock aggressively to push sales numbers. This fiscal, while improved demand will result in inventory correction by 5- 10 days, it will remain higher than the average levels seen prior to fiscal 2024.</p>



<p>Says <strong>Ankita Gupta, Associate Director, Crisil Ratings</strong>,<strong> </strong>“<em>With moderate reduction in inventory on-year and limited capital expenditure for new showrooms, debt levels for dealers are likely to decline marginally this fiscal over last. Gearing should improve to 1.0-1.1 times by March 2026 from the peak of 1.2 times seen as of March 2025. Interest coverage is expected to improve to 3.0-3.2 times from 2.9 times last fiscal. Consequently, credit profiles will be stable over the medium term</em>.<em>”</em></p>



<p>In the road ahead, recovery in retail sales volume, extent of further inventory push by OEMs and improvement in both urban and rural demand will bear watching.</p>

<p><strong>PUNE:</strong> India’s most desirable luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz today announced its best-ever fiscal sales with 18,928 new Mercedes-Benz retailed. The company also retailed 4,775 new Mercedes-Benz in the January to March 2025 period. Mercedes-Benz sales were primarily driven by new product launches, qualitative network degradation, and elevating customer experiences. Mercedes-Benz India’s ‘Desire to Exceed’ market strategy is reflected in growing customer loyalty and increasing desirability of the brand in the Indian market. The strong performance of the Core and Top-End Luxury segment remained the highlight of the last fiscal and Q1 2025 sales and was complemented by a strong acceleration in the BEV growth and its increased penetration.</p>

<p><strong>Robust demand for the Top-End Luxury segment:</strong></p>



<p>The key highlight for Mercedes-Benz India’s fiscal 24-25 and Q1 25 sales had been the strong and consistent demand for its Top-End Luxury segment comprising the likes of S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, EQS SUV, and the AMG range. Top-end luxury segment sales grew by 34% in FY 24-25 with robust demand for S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach Night Series, G 580 with EQ Technology, EQS SUV, and the iconic AMG G 63.</p>



<p>In Q1 2025 more than 1 out of 4 cars sold in India by Mercedes-Benz remained a ‘Top-End Luxury’ vehicle. The waiting period for the Top-End Luxury segment ranges from 4 months, and up to a year for the iconic AMG G 63.</p>



<p><strong>Consistent traction driving the ‘Core’ segment:</strong></p>



<p>Mercedes-Benz’s ‘Core’ segment remained the highest contributor to its sales in FY 24-25 and in Q1 2025. The Core segment comprising C-Class, E-Class LWB sedans, the GLC, and GLE SUVs continued to drive customer desire and loyalty, contributing a significant share in the overall sales volumes of Mercedes-Benz.</p>



<p>In Q1 2025, the success of the E-Class LWB (now available with a dynamic E 450 variant) continued, with very high customer traction across all markets. The Long Wheelbase E-Class remains the highest-selling luxury car in India.</p>



<p><strong>Entry Luxury Segment:</strong></p>



<p>Mercedes-Benz ‘Entry Luxury’ offers product substance, having a higher value for luxury customers. In Q1 2025, Mercedes-Benz&#8217;s ‘Entry Luxury Segment’ declined by 28%, in a segment primarily dominated by-products at a lower price point with the high market offering. Mercedes-Benz products are feature-rich and fully loaded, underlining a value-oriented sales approach, that caters to growing customer aspirations.</p>



<p><strong>Strong demand for BEV:</strong></p>



<p>Mercedes-Benz BEV portfolio grew by a robust 51% in FY 24-25 fiscal, with a penetration of 7% of total sales. BEV sales growth underlined the continued strong response to the entire portfolio, highlighted with the highest-ever customer deliveries for the EQS SUV.</p>



<p>Q1 25 sales also witnessed a similar strong demand for the BEV portfolio with a very positive response to the ‘Made in India’ EQS SUV 580 and EQS SUV 450, pushing the BEV penetration to 8% in Q1 25.</p>



<p>The BEVs particularly witnessed significant growth in the ‘Top-End Luxury’ spectrum, with high demand for the EQS Maybach Night Series and the stunning G 580 SUV with EQ Technology. The waiting period for both these vehicles extends up to 12 months.</p>



<p><strong>Major Retail Network expansion planned in Q2 2025:</strong></p>



<p>Mercedes-Benz India, as part of its ‘Go to Customer’ strategy, has a major Retail Network expansion planned in Q2 2025. As part of market expansion, Mercedes-Benz will expand its retail network to 21 world-class MAR20X outlets in new emerging markets, as well in the existing metropolis of New Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai, with an investment of Rs. 450 crores from Franchise Partners in next three years. Mercedes-Benz will also debut in key emerging markets of Kanpur, Jammu, Varanasi, Udaipur, and Patna among other markets. A state-of-the-art modern luxury facility was inaugurated in Agra last week.</p>

<p>With this first-of-its-kind collaboration, starting January 16, 2025, BGMI players will be able to interact with the sporty and performance-driven Mahindra BE 6 within the game, bringing a new level of realism and excitement to the virtual battleground. Players can unlock a range of exclusive items inspired by the BE 6, including Suits like Quantum and Chrono Charge, and gameplay tools like Volt Tracer Gun, Neon Drop BE6 Parachute, Flashvault BE 6 Backpack, SparkStrike Pan, and more. Special missions during the collaboration will also reward players with unique prizes such as Mahindra Event Crates, Gifts, and a chance to win real Mahindra BE 6.</p>
