TCS’ 2025 Cybersecurity Outlook finds that organizations that prepare for evolving cyber threats can build the necessary resilience to operate in an increasingly complex threat landscape

MUMBAI: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, has announced its 2025 Cybersecurity Outlook, a list of technology trends and focus areas curated by TCS experts. Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), cloud security, and supply chain resilience will be key for organizations to effectively navigate the threat landscape in the coming year.

As next-gen technologies continue to gain momentum across industries, they give rise to new and complex threats. Experts and leaders at TCS have identified seven focus areas that will influence cybersecurity and help organizations prioritize their security investments to prepare for increasing cyberattacks.

Ganesa Subramanian Vaikuntam, Global Head of Cybersecurity at TCS, said, “With geopolitical shifts and evolving technology, global cybersecurity is undergoing a major transformation. GenAI is enhancing operational efficiencies, but organizations must equip themselves to counteract cyber threats. Organizations must harness these advancements and implement GenAI-powered threat detection and response systems to stay ahead of the curve. In this era of evolving technologies, a robust and proactive cyber resilience strategy is not just an option, but a necessity for enterprises to effectively navigate and mitigate unforeseen cyber incidents.”

In the face of emerging cyber threats, enterprises are looking for ways to leverage GenAI to secure their businesses, according to TCS’ 2025 Cybersecurity Outlook. The cybersecurity trends to look out for in 2025 are:

1. Influence of GenAI in cybersecurity on the rise

GenAI is transforming organizational operations but is also being exploited by cybercriminals for advanced attacks like deepfakes, phishing, data manipulation, and new malware. In response, organizations must fight fire with fire by deploying GenAI-powered threat detection and response systems.

2. Cloud security remains crucial

As cloud computing adoption continues to accelerate, organizations need to implement strong security protocols like encryption, access controls, and continuous monitoring. Maintaining proper cloud configurations is crucial to prevent unauthorized access and breaches, and those moving to multi-cloud or hybrid environments will need to adapt their security measures accordingly.

3. Elastic supply chains will be relevant for operational integrity

In 2025, organizations will need flexible, resilient supply chains due to changing geopolitics and partner ecosystems. Leaders must develop proactive strategies to adjust their supply networks while protecting sensitive data and maintaining regulatory compliance. Enhancing supply chain resilience will be increasingly vital for preserving operational integrity in the face of uncertainty.

4. Emerging business models will underscore the need to be secure by design

At a time when digital technologies, IoT capabilities, and advanced connectivity are driving new business models in EV charging, DERMS, autonomous vehicles, and other connected factories, organizations must secure their value chains to ensure these businesses are safe by design. By 2025, the growth of IoT devices will require stronger device hardening, secure communication channels, and ongoing vulnerability assessments to maintain momentum in business growth.

5. Cybersecurity Mesh Architecture will pave the way for zero-trust security

Organizations are moving from traditional security models to zero-trust architecture, which requires continuous authentication and limited access to minimize threats. By 2026, most large enterprises will adopt zero-trust methods, consolidating security tools to be more efficient. To adapt, organizations must use integrated platforms for orchestrating and automating cybersecurity while working towards Cybersecurity Mesh Architecture (CSMA) for dynamic, collaborative, and secure environments.

6. CSOs will adopt an ‘automation-first’ approach to Managed Detection and Response

Modern Managed Detection and Response (MDR) combines Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Operation Centers (SOCs), Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR), Extended Detection and Response (XDR), threat hunting, threat intelligence, and various attack simulations. These components must integrate seamlessly under an “automation-first” approach for strong cyber defense against new technologies like Gen AI, quantum computing, and 5G expansion. By 2025, organizations are likely to seek more industry-specific and integrated cyber-physical security solutions.

7. Back to basics: Cyber resilience will be essential for business security

Now more than ever, a robust cyber resilience strategy is crucial for organizations to handle unexpected cyber incidents and will require taking a fresh look at the basics: regular backups, detailed incident response plans, and business continuity measures. Something as simple as regular drills can enhance organizational preparedness and response capabilities. Promoting a culture of resilience will help minimize downtime and disruptions from cyberattacks.

A leader in cybersecurity globally, TCS’ offerings range from consulting, and implementation, to managed security services across – detection and response, identity and access management, attack surface management, governance, risk and compliance, data privacy and protection, digital forensics and incident response, cloud security, and cyber-physical security. These offerings are tailored to address industry-specific challenges. With over 16,000 cybersecurity professionals on its roster, TCS helps over 600 enterprises across the globe protect their entire digital estate and improve their security posture.
Accorded to the Abbott World Marathon Major status, the TCS Sydney Marathon has joined New York, London, Boston, Chicago, Tokyo, and Berlin marathons

SYDNEY: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, announced that the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS has been officially recognized as an Abbott World Marathon Major (AWMM). This distinction places the TCS Sydney Marathon among the world’s most prestigious marathons. With this inclusion, TCS now sponsors five of the seven Abbott World Marathon Majors – a series that includes the iconic marathons of Berlin, Boston, Chicago, London, New York, Tokyo, and now, Sydney—further solidifying TCS’ unprecedented leadership in the global running landscape.

Wayne Larden, CEO of Pont3, Race Director, TCS Sydney Marathon, said, “We set out to create history together and take the TCS Sydney Marathon to the Abbott World Marathon Majors, and now we have achieved this incredible milestone through an incredible amount of work done by the Pont3 team and the collaboration with partners like TCS, the NSW Government, Destination NSW, and ASICS. Joining the Majors will create fundamental positive changes to the event and community. From significantly enhanced participation, visitation from international and interstate runners will turbocharge the economic impact of the event, we will also see significantly enhanced contributions to charities through our increased focus on fundraising.”

The TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS joins the list of races that marathon runners must compete in to achieve coveted recognitions and rewards, offering participants a unique opportunity to join a global network of elite runners.

Abhinav Kumar, Chief Marketing Officer at TCS, said, “This is a historic moment not just for the TCS Sydney marathon, and Australia, but for the global running community at large. This is only the second time that a race has been accorded this status since the founding of the majors in 2006, with Tokyo’s inclusion in 2013. We strongly believed in and supported Sydney’s candidature to become a Major, leading to our decision earlier this year to express this support through our title partnership. We are glad to see this dream become a reality and congratulate all our partners who worked hard on this effort. We are delighted to now be a proud partner to five of the seven most prominent races on our planet.”

TCS’ deep portfolio of marathon sponsorships spans 14 global running events across four continents, engaging over 600,000 participants annually. Through its title sponsorship of the TCS New York City Marathon, TCS London Marathon, TCS Sydney Marathon and partnership roles in Boston and Chicago marathons, TCS continues to transform the runner and spectator experience through technological innovation and community involvement, raising over $130 million in charity annually.

As an Abbott World Marathon Major, the TCS Sydney Marathon will attract top marathon runners from around the world and significantly increase participation and investment, strengthening Sydney’s reputation as a premier destination for world-class sporting events. This achievement continues the legacy of the 2000 Sydney Olympics – the birthplace of the TCS Sydney Marathon and establishes Australia as home to the only major marathon in the Southern Hemisphere.

Vikram Singh, TCS Country Head of Australia & New Zealand, said, “We are proud to have played a role in the race’s elevation to world major status. The elevation of the TCS Sydney Marathon establishes the race as the first Abbott World Major in the southern hemisphere. The recognition parallels TCS’ growth story in Australia, one of its fastest-growing markets. We look forward to partnering on a global scale with the TCS Sydney Marathon to set a new standard in sustainability and in the way, technology can enhance marathons for participants and fans alike.”

In its inaugural year as title sponsor, TCS has already made significant contributions to the Sydney Marathon. The 2024 event witnessed record-breaking participation with 25,000 participants, making it the largest marathon in Australian history. The TCS Sydney Marathon also made history with record-breaking performances, including the fastest marathon times ever recorded on Australian soil.

Honoring Indigenous heritage, TCS supported the appointment of a 2024 TCS Sydney Marathon Indigenous Running Ambassador, Wiradjuri woman, and Indigenous Marathon Foundation (IMF) graduate, Hayley Pymont. The marathon also introduced the TCS Sydney Mini Marathon to promote youth engagement in running. TCS also partnered with the marathon organizers, and the NSW Department of Education, to encourage the next generation of runners and STEM students to develop sustainability solutions for the race, as part of the TCS Sydney Marathon goIT challenge. TCS further expanded its innovative Future Athlete Project by recruiting a group of IMF graduates to the program. This initiative is designed to uncover pioneering insights into heart health and athletic performance using digital twin technology.

TCS’ growing stature as a brand and its strong client relationships are evident in Australia. The company has a longstanding commitment of over 35 years in this market and serves as a digital partner to most of the top 10 listed companies on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). The company has operations in five locations across the country and has also been recognized among LinkedIn’s Top 25 companies to work for and as a top employer in the region by the Top Employers Institute.

With a high satisfaction score of 84%, Tata Consultancy Services retained its position as a leader in customer satisfaction in the 2023 French IT Sourcing Study by Whitelane Research.

PARIS: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) has emerged as a leader in customer satisfaction in France by ranking first in the 2023 French IT Sourcing Study by global think tank Whitelane Research. With a satisfaction score of 84%, TCS retained its position at the top for the fifth consecutive year.

Whitelane Research is an independent organization that conducts in-depth research into information technology procurement policies in Europe and organizes events across the continent. The 2023 French IT Sourcing Study, conducted in collaboration with IT consulting firm Timspirit, is the largest independent survey carried out in France among 200 business managers and customers of IT service providers. It covers 600 IT outsourcing contracts and 700 cloud service contracts.

TCS France consolidated its leadership with a score that is 12% higher than the average of companies in the sector and a lead of 6% compared to the organization that ranked second. The general satisfaction score is also up 3%, a significant jump from last year’s performance.

“We are delighted to be ranked number one in customer satisfaction by our French customers for the fifth consecutive year. For over three decades, TCS has been partnering with many esteemed French organizations on their transformative journeys, contributing to their growth and helping them realize their visionary goals. Our enduring collaboration has been built on a foundation of innovation, customer-centricity, continued investment in local talent, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the French market. We remain committed to fostering success and driving transformational impact for our French clients and this achievement reaffirms our position as their trusted partner.” said Rammohan Gourneni, Managing Director of TCS France.

Operating in France since 1992, TCS has supported more than 80 large French companies in their growth and transformation journeys, including 18 CAC40 companies (Alcatel-Lucent, BNPP, Engie, Sodexo, Société Générale, Total, etc.). In the three decades since, TCS has made significant investments in the country and opened service centers in Paris-Suresnes, Lille, and Poitiers. The IT services leader has also been recognized as one of the best employers in Europe and France by the Top Employers Institute for 11 years in a row.

TCS’ growth in France is reflected in its performance in the 2023 survey on indicators such as account management (87%, + 11% vs. average), innovation, and ability to drive transformation (79%, + 15% vs. the average), and the use of sustainable technologies (78%, +13% vs. the average).

Jef Loos, Head of Procurement at Whitelane Research, said, “Tata Consultancy Services holds the top position in France for the fifth consecutive year, demonstrating the consistency of its commitment to its French clients. Maintaining such a high customer satisfaction rate year after year and in a rapidly evolving technological context shows the technical capabilities, flexibility, and customer centricity that TCS teams can do, whether in terms of digital transformation, application services, Cloud or workplace.”

The study brings out important insights on the topics that IT managers will be prioritizing for the next two years. Almost 63% of the respondents plan to outsource more or at least maintain their current level of outsourcing. Respondents’ main motivations remain cost reduction (56%), refocusing on core business (45%), improving the quality of service (40%), and better access to resources and talents (32%). The services that managers will focus on include finance, the manufacturing industry of chemicals, consumer goods, pharmaceutical products, and finally public services.

Embracing the Tata Group’s larger vision, we are deploying the full power of our brand platforms to not only shape a more sustainable future but also strategically position our brand as a leader in Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technology fronts.” Said Abhinav Kumar, Chief Marketing Officer at Tata Consultancy Services.

Artificial Intelligence: TCS’ AI strategy is built on strengthening capabilities across its value chains and helping customers realize its transformative potential. Over 150,000 employees have already been trained in basic GenAI competencies. To empower its employees in AI skill sets further, TCS launched an AI Experience Zone for its workforce. Leveraging its marathon platform, TCS partnered with champion marathoner Des Linden ahead of the TCS New York City Marathon to create a digital twin of her heart. This twin can offer a new method for health measurement and transform the training experience, thereby opening possibilities for real-time, personalized healthcare, by leveraging digital twins, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Sustainability: TCS has charted a clear path to attain Net Zero Emissions goals of reducing its absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. Aligning its marketing efforts to this objective, TCS also collaborated with the Council for Responsible Sport, to build the ReScore app – a first-of-its-kind digital application that helps sports organizations worldwide to measure and certify their sustainability performance. The TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon and the TCS London Marathon have already achieved Evergreen and Gold standards on this platform. TCS also supports the world’s first all-electric racing series, Formula E, through the Jaguar TCS Racing team. This partnership catalyzes electrification, advancing efforts towards reduced carbon emissions and fostering sustainable mobility.

Tata Consultancy Services Finds Business Leaders Are Doubling Down on Cloud as a Long-Term Catalyst for Innovation, AI-Powered Transformation, and Sustainability

NEW YORK: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) latest survey of senior business leaders worldwide, ‘Connected Future: How Cloud Drives Business Innovation’ reveals that cloud remains a long-term investment priority for 70% of major corporations, despite current macro headwinds and the recent slowing of the growth of global cloud providers.

The global survey of 972 senior executives reveals that innovation is a major driver of cloud investment, with 59% reporting that the cloud is crucial as a catalyst for innovation for their organization’s future.

This appears particularly true for artificial intelligence (AI): 75% of respondents invested in AI and machine learning capabilities over the past two years, while 78% plan to do so over the coming 12-24 months. Both technologies are highly dependent on access to large amounts of data and scalability through the cloud.

Interestingly, more than a third of respondents (37%) have made progress in their goals for cloud-enabled innovation in the form of new business models, underlining the growing power of the cloud to drive new revenue.

In addition, the study also finds a clear majority of respondents—67%—are using cloud technologies to achieve sustainability goals. However, 43% report difficulty in understanding the carbon footprints of cloud service providers. This suggests that while most respondents see cloud as an important—and thus far successful—part of their sustainability strategy, and increasingly use cloud tools to assess their own carbon impact, they are now demanding the same visibility from their cloud service providers.

Overall, despite significant progress in recent years, the study reveals that businesses still have a long way to go to unlock the full power and potential of the cloud. Other key findings include:

Industry clouds or ‘vertical clouds’ are rapidly emerging as a fast path to acquiring greater business expertise and capabilities, with an overwhelming majority of respondents surveyed (73%) reporting that they are already assessing, adopting, or using them in business today.

Companies want to participate in digital ecosystems, but most are still far from realizing their full value: 66% of respondents are still in the earliest stages of transition towards mature digital ecosystems.

Critical skills shortages continue to affect businesses in the cloud space, with over half (52%) of respondents reporting a lack of full cloud proficiencies in-house.

Krishnan Ramanujam, President, of Enterprise Growth Group, TCS, comments: “This latest global study strongly affirms that there is no business strategy without a cloud strategy. A desire for greater efficiency, resilience, and flexibility drove early cloud adoption, and these remain critical factors. Businesses now more fully understand how cloud drives business growth and innovation for the long-term, and for most, the journey is only just getting started.”

“Cloud is a frequent source of short-term ROI anxieties, but growth and transformation is a long game. Reconciling these two realities is a challenge and a necessity, but fully achievable with the right strategy and planning. This is critical because the cloud is now the unifying digital fabric of every enterprise, fueling powerful technologies—from generative AI to edge and quantum computing—and is ushering the next wave of innovations now and into the future,” Ramanujam adds.

The 2023 TCS global Cloud Study surveyed 972 senior executives at companies exceeding $1 billion in annual revenue from multiple sectors across Asia, Europe, and North America. A majority of the companies report annual revenues in excess of $5 billion. Individual markets surveyed include:

· Continental Europe (Germany, Spain, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg).

· UK & Ireland.

· North America (USA, Canada, Mexico).

· APAC (India, Japan, Australia, New Zealand).
