NEW DELHI: The Economic Times, India’s leading business and financial news platform, today announced the launch of its upgraded ETMarkets platform, designed to solve the most pressing challenges faced by modern investors. This major upgrade transforms ETMarkets into the definitive one-stop destination for investment intelligence, addressing the fragmentation and complexity that has long frustrated India’s growing investor community.

In a financial landscape where critical information is scattered across multiple sources, ETMarkets now consolidates essential market data, analytical tools, expert insights, and actionable investment ideas in one intuitive platform. As India’s investor base is projected to more than triple from 30 million to 100 million by FY30, this timely innovation promises to democratize sophisticated investment tools previously available only to financial professionals.

“We’re witnessing a transformation in how Indians approach wealth creation,” says Puneet Kukreja. “Our vision for ETMarkets is to democratize access to institutional-grade market intelligence, giving every retail investor the capabilities that were once reserved for professionals. This isn’t just about providing data—it’s about empowering confident decision-making.“

The enhanced platform introduces six powerful market tools specifically designed to address the everyday challenges that investors face:

Stock Reports Plus: Powered by Refinitiv, this tool uncovers hidden opportunities through comprehensive company scores and projected returns, enabling investors to identify undervalued stocks with confidence.

Big Bull Portfolio: Gain strategic insights by tracking where major investors—India’s “Big Bulls”—are placing their bets, providing a window into high-potential stocks that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Market Mood: Navigate market volatility more effectively with real-time sentiment analysis that helps identify trend reversals and market shifts before they become obvious.

Stock Analyzer: Make thorough evaluations based on more than 20 key parameters spanning fundamentals, solvency, and growth metrics, ensuring investment decisions are grounded in comprehensive analysis.

Stock Talk: Connect directly with market experts to get actionable advice, entry-exit strategies, and explanations of complex market conditions in real time.

Live Stream: Engage with market specialists through interactive sessions, asking questions and receiving immediate feedback to enhance investment understanding.

Additionally, ETMarkets now delivers 5-6 expert investment ideas daily and features a comprehensive Markets Dashboard that serves as a command center for instant market intelligence.

“I’ve witnessed the frustrating journey of investors who hop between countless platforms, only to end up more confused and often with financial losses,” explains Rachna Mittal, Head of User Experience, Research, & Customer Success. “ETMarkets ends that exhausting marathon by providing everything investors need in one place. And this is just the beginning—we’re building a platform that not only informs investment decisions but also educates users on how to invest wisely.”

Backed by The Economic Times’ 70-year legacy of trusted financial reporting, the enhanced ETMarkets represents a significant evolution in how Indians interact with the stock market—making sophisticated investing accessible to everyone from first-time investors to seasoned traders.

Advocates integrating multidisciplinary approaches in design education

PUNE: “Designers should be involved in the development of Artificial Intelligence to ensure that collaborative and ethical tools are developed. Do not consider AI as a threat but as a tool to enhance creativity and problem-solving capabilities”, said Don Norman while addressing the gathering of designers and the students of design at a special session titled ‘Insights with Don Norman’ organized by the Pune Chapter of Association of Designers of India (ADI) and the BITS Design School at the Sumant Moolgaonkar auditorium of MCCIA over the last weekend. Dignitaries like Balkrishna Mahajan, National President of ADI, and Nandita Abraham, Dean, of BITS Design School were present for the function. Don Norman is a world-renowned design expert, the author of many popular books on design, and the Director of the Design Lab at the University of California, USA.

During his address to the design community in the city, Don Norman said, “Designers have the power to influence large companies about product choices and ethical business practices. So, they must learn to communicate in the language of business like margins, profit, loss, and financial forecasts. Designers need to develop the foresight like the marketing experts who often estimate demand for non-existent products. They must not forget the Importance of understanding politics, history, ethics, management, and finance to drive impactful design decisions.”

“Move away from colonial design methods to co-design with communities and understand the importance of participatory design by involving local expertise and resources. Policy-making often overlooks the direct involvement of affected people. Designers can extend help in this regard since they can influence policies by understanding and engaging with policy-making processes”, he advised.

According to him, the design community is becoming global. As a result, shared learning and problem-solving for complex global issues is becoming important. So, we must encourage young designers to work collaboratively and understand the broader implications of their designs.

Don pointed out that qualities like continuous learning and adaptation are essential for meaningful contributions to design and innovation. Thus integrating multidisciplinary approaches in design education that facilitate project-based learning to bridge gaps between theory and practice is of paramount importance. The Education system focuses on individual development with evaluation patterns like grading systems. However, developing the approach of working in teams must start from the higher education phase of life as problem-solving or developing solutions requires multiple skills.

ADI is a national body that offers a platform for designers to explore, and supports designers across various disciplines, promoting knowledge exchange, professional growth, and addressing the needs of the design community.

The AI Tour is a one-of-a-kind event that showcases how generative AI can enable new forms of creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. The tour features keynote sessions, demos, and workshops, where developers can learn from Microsoft experts and partners, as well as network with peers.

Irina Ghose, Managing Director, of Microsoft India, said, “AI is the future of innovation and India is leading the way with its tech talent. The Microsoft Applied Skills credential will help developers demonstrate their competence and creativity in the most in-demand AI skills and scenarios. We welcome all developers to join us in creating meaningful AI solutions that will contribute to India’s economy.“

OrthoAI will enable doctors access to a wealth of medical literature

PUNE: Sancheti Hospital today announced the launch of unique OrthoAI, a generative AI tool that will help orthopedic experts get access to the vast and rich medical literature. This groundbreaking and world’s first initiative powered by artificial intelligence for orthopedics will help doctors keep updated with the latest content through thousands of published articles and videos under one roof and help make better decisions.

OrthoAI was launched at the hands of Chief Guest and Eminent Scientist Dr.Raghunath Mashelkar in the presence of veteran orthopedic surgeon Dr.K.H Sancheti, Dr . Parag Sancheti Chairman Sancheti Hospital, Dr.Ashok Shyam, consultant orthopedic surgeon and head of academics and research at Sancheti Hospital, Dr.Neeraj Bijlani, consultant orthopedic surgeon and Rohan Lunawat, and Amit Yerudkar managing partners Script Lanes.

The initiative is a result of extensive work by a team of doctors from Sancheti Hospital and IT professionals from Pune-based Script Lanes for the last year. It is modeled to be an evidence-based Generative AI for Orthopaedics built on LLM and a Cognitive search model that provides answers to queries with citations to recent literature and related videos.

Hailing the initiative of Sancheti Hospital, eminent scientist Dr.R.A Mashelkar said that insights are important but foresight is more important to take advantage of technology. Technology has come to stay and we are using it. India has created digital public infrastructure and tops data consumption and polevaulted with digital payments too. We have to take advantage of this leadership that we have created. There are challenges and addressing these challenges will require a multidimensional approach.

Healthcare professionals, data scientists, and policymakers should come together to address all challenges.

Explaining the concept, Dr.Ashok Shyam said that decision-making is generally based on three aspects viz. clinical experience of the surgeon, current literature, and requirements of the patient. It is challenging to keep up with the current literature which is dynamic, vast, and ever-expanding. Even the experience of individual surgeons varies. So it will help if we have shared experiences. So OrthoAI takes into account both these aspects and searches the literature through PubMed and experience-based knowledge from OrthoTV. So it is like a copilot for orthopedic surgeons in making decisions. Since these decisions are optimized by literature and shared experiences, they can help in using resources in a better way. AI is an evolving concept and we will keep evolving with a tab on ethics and safety.

Dr. Neeraj Bijlani said that the concept will be useful, especially in complex cases in older patients with commodities like diabetes, osteoarthritis, hypertension, etc, and pediatric age group with congenital abnormalities or in any complex cases. Different surgeons use different methods to handle complications and therefore this literature and shared experiences will help in knowing how other experts are managing those cases.

Dr.Parag Sancheti said that this initiative is aimed at helping orthopedics deliver the best outcomes for the patient. We are happy to be a part of this first-of-its-kind initiative.
