PUNE: NDR Warehousing, a leading player in the warehousing and logistics sector, has today announced the inauguration of its newest state-of-the-art facility in Pune. The inauguration ceremony took place on April 25th, 2024.

This project is a part of NDR Warehousing’s expansion plan, with ongoing or planned acquisitions of over 80 acres in Pune, indicating a potential for an additional 1.8 million square feet of industrial and warehousing space.

The facility is going to be leased to an Indian multinational tyre manufacturing company.

Located in the Taluka Mawal district of Pune, the new facility boasts a warehouse area of approximately 0.4 million square feet and was constructed in a record time of just 7 months. The warehouse’s noteworthy features include an insulated roof and side walls with an adequate air change mechanism, enabling 6 air changes per hour. In addition to its size and advanced construction, the facility incorporates sustainable elements such as the planting of 600 forest trees and a state-of-the-art Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to treat wastewater.

PUNE: Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has been recognized as the first automaker to receive the prestigious Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Platinum certification in the Indian Automotive Industry in the owner-occupied category. This stands as a testament to the consistent eco-friendly initiatives undertaken by the organization to reduce its carbon footprint.

Built with sustainability in mind, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India’s new Parts Expedition Center in Chakan, Pune will facilitate the export of CKD parts for assembly in Vietnam. Some of the key initiatives include optimal orientation for solar power generation, energy-efficient lighting and equipment, water conservation, effective waste management, and promoting a green mindset among employees. To obtain the prestigious Indian Green Building Council certification, organizations must dedicate at least 15% of their total area to greenery. Aligning with its sustainable goals, SAVWIPL achieved this by integrating space-saving vertical gardens without compromising the capacity of the operational area. To reduce its carbon footprint, the center also uses electric vehicles and charging stations for internal logistics and operations.

The first-of-its-kind facility for any airline in India, the integrated warehouse will serve as the cornerstone of Air India’s engineering function, offering a one-stop solution for storing aircraft spares, tools, and ground support equipment ranging from hardware to sophisticated and complex avionics, hydraulics, structural, pneumatic, and mechanical components.

The warehouse will fulfill engineering resource requirements for maintenance and service of the Air India, Air India Express, and AIX Connect fleet from a centralized location by integrating 16 subscale and scattered locations spread across Delhi and Mumbai into a consolidated state-of-the-art facility that will function as a hub and feeder network for operations throughout India. INDIA: Mahindra Logistics Ltd. (MLL) – one of India’s largest integrated logistics solutions providers and Ascendas-Firstspace – an industrial real estate developer announces, the setting up of a new one million square feet of multi-client warehouse park in Talegaon, Pune. With comprehensive connectivity, the entire development will be spread over three phases with the first phase of 0.5 million sq ft scheduled to be operational by the end of 2023-24.

The Ascendas-Firstspace Pune Talegaon-II logistics park is spread over 40 acres. This is the second project in the micro-market of Ascendas-Firstspace, a joint venture between CapitaLand Investment and Firstspace Realty. It is part of the Chakan Talegaon Industrial Corridor (CTIC), which is one of the most important manufacturing clusters in India. The area has been a traditional manufacturing base for large auto, engineering, and electronics companies.
