PUNE: Oasis Fertility, India’s trusted name in reproductive medicine, after completing its tour to help couples in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka continues its nationwide fertility awareness movement, Oasis Janani Yatra, by reaching its next stop at Pune in Maharashtra This initiative aims to bring fertility awareness, expert guidance, and early screening directly into communities across Tier I, II, and III regions.

The launch of the Oasis Janani Yatra also featured a Walkathon for Parenthood, focused on raising awareness about infertility, the importance of early fertility screening, and long-term reproductive health. The initiative highlighted the need to empower the girl child through timely awareness and education, while encouraging informed conversations around fertility and future family planning. The walkathon saw participation from students, families, healthcare professionals, and members of the local community.

The event was graced by Chief Guests Dr.Kiran Kurtkoti, President AMOGS, along with Dr.Manish Machave, President POGS, and Mohan Tiloo, President of the Rotary Club of Pune Sanskruti, who appreciated Oasis Fertility’s efforts in bringing essential reproductive health education closer to families and strengthening community-level health awareness.

As fertility challenges continue to rise due to lifestyle changes, delayed parenthood, and lack of scientific knowledge, the Oasis Janani Yatra bus provides free fertility consultations, free AMH & haemoglobin tests, free semen analysis, and safe, hygienic sample collection zones, ensuring that couples receive early, accurate, and compassionate guidance.

Chief Guest Dr. Kiran Kurtkoti appreciated the initiative, “The Oasis Janani Yatra plays a crucial role in raising awareness about reproductive issues, giving people the chance to understand their health despite their socioeconomic position. After successfully reaching communities across four states, the clinic has reached Maharashtra, and I hope the medical experts at Oasis Fertility can treat just as many – if not more – people here.”

Dr. Durga G. Rao, Medical Director & Co-founder, Oasis Fertility, said, “After a successful venture in the other South Indian states, the Oasis Janani Yatra is bringing advanced, evidence-based reproductive care to the core of Maharashtra’s local communities, which proves especially important for its declining TFR. As science continues to shape the way we treat infertility, we aim to provide early medical guidance for couples embarking on the journey towards parenthood.”

Pushkaraj Shenai, CEO, Oasis Fertility, asserted, “As India’s fertility rate continues to fall, the need of the hour is high-quality, accessible, and timely reproductive care. Strengthening the reach of the Good Hands of Science, we have provided expert counselling, early diagnostics, and guided support at the grassroots level, enabling aspiring parents to make informed medical decisions.”

Dr. Nilesh Unmesh Balkawade, Regional Medical Head –India West, Oasis Fertility, added, “The overwhelming response to the Oasis Janani Yatra reaffirms that couples deeply value the right medical guidance. Through this initiative, we aim to take timely information and compassionate support directly to local communities that still face challenges in understanding fertility concerns and available advanced treatments. As the Oasis Janani Yatra is being conducted around National Girl Child Day, it further reinforces our commitment to strengthening women’s healthcare and awareness at the grassroots level.”

In a world overflowing with noise, division, and urgency, thousands in Pune paused on Saturday to walk for something simple yet profound: Compassion.

PUNE: The Sadhu Vaswani Mission held its 59th Annual Rath Yatra on 22nd November, 2025, to commemorate the 146th birth anniversary of Sadhu T. L. Vaswani. The three-hour procession began at 5 PM and concluded at 8 PM IST, transforming the streets of Pune Camp into a vibrant display of devotion. Several floats moved along the route, displaying messages of peace and compassion, while singers on the floats sang bhajans and kirtans. Hundreds of participants walked, chanting holy hymns and expressing their commitment to a world free from cruelty.

A major attraction was the Rath itself—an intricately designed, spaceship-like vehicle carrying a lifelike statue of Sadhu Vaswani and a statue of Dada J. P. Vaswani. As the Rath travelled the 5-kilometer route through Council Hall, Poona Club, Dorabjee, Babajan Chowk, Mahatma Gandhi Road, and other major landmarks, devotees gathered on both sides of the street to catch a glimpse and offer their homage. The atmosphere was filled with emotion as Didi Krishna Kumari, Head of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, led the procession and distributed prasad to participants and passers-by.

Two halts were made at Pudumjee Compound and Kohinoor Hotel, where Didi Krishna addressed the gathering. She highlighted Sadhu Vaswani’s message of compassion for all, urging people to observe International Meatless Day on 25th November and adopt a lifestyle rooted in non-violence.

One of the participants, Dr. Vedika Ajwani, who has been carrying her little ones — aged 2 and 4 — to the Rath Yatra for the past four years, shared: “From birth, we have brought them to the Yatra so we could inculcate the values of reverence, love, and compassion. We want them to immerse themselves in the tirtha-yatra and seek the blessings of saints.”

First launched in 1966, the Yatra has grown into a major spiritual procession that brings together devotees from across the world to spread the saint’s enduring message of compassion and non-violence. Like every year, the event placed special emphasis on Sadhu Vaswani’s appeal to protect all living beings, reminding people that animals are “our brothers and sisters” and deserve kindness and compassion.

In the days ahead, the Mission will continue its celebrations with Guru Gatha 1.0, a theatrical presentation on the life of Sadhu Vaswani on 23rd November, followed by kirtan and satsang evenings and several service activities across the city. The week-long festivities will culminate on 25th November, observed globally as International Meatless Day, with satsangs continuing till midnight and a public langar in the afternoon, open to all.

The annual Rath Yatra remains a powerful reminder of Sadhu Vaswani’s vision—a world where compassion extends beyond humanity to all forms of life, and where every being is treated with dignity and love.

Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF) extends support by setting up medical camps for the devotees

PUNE: Finolex Industries Limited, India’s leading manufacturer of PVC pipes and fittings, proudly announced its continued participation in the Pandharpur Wari Yatra for 2024, extending its support to this significant cultural and spiritual event in Maharashtra for more than 25 years.

The Pandharpur Wari, an 800-year-old tradition, saw millions of devotees undertake a 21-day pilgrimage on foot to the Vithoba temple in Pandharpur. As part of its ongoing commitment to this revered event, Finolex planned a comprehensive support program for the 2024 Wari Yatra. Finolex provided essential items to the Warkaris to enhance the comfort of pilgrims during their spiritual journey. These included large utility bags for carrying personal belongings, ponchos to protect from unpredictable weather, and Hari Path booklets to aid in their devotional practices. Recognizing the crucial role of law enforcement in managing this massive gathering, the company also distributed raincoats to police officers overseeing the event.

Healthcare was a priority during such a large-scale pilgrimage. To address this, Finolex’s CSR arm, Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF), set up multiple medical camps at key locations along the Yatra route. These camps provided necessary medical assistance, ensuring the well-being of Warkaris throughout their journey.

Pradeep Shastry Vedula, President of Sales & Marketing, at Finolex Industries Ltd., stated, “Our participation in the Pandharpur Wari is a testament to Finolex’s deep connection with Maharashtra’s agricultural community. For more than 25 years, we have been honored to support this 800-year-old tradition that brings millions together in a spirit of devotion and unity. This event allows us to engage in ‘Warkari Seva,’ which for us is equivalent to social work and paying homage to Lord Vitthal. This event is a unique opportunity for us to participate in a tradition that unifies people across all social strata. Our involvement goes beyond mere visibility; it’s about actively contributing to a cultural phenomenon that has brought communities together for centuries. As a company deeply rooted in Maharashtra’s soil, we see our involvement in the Wari as a continuation of our commitment to the communities we serve.“

This initiative reflected Finolex’s commitment to upholding traditions while supporting the communities it serves. As a company deeply rooted in Maharashtra and a leader in the agricultural sector, Finolex saw the Wari Yatra as an opportunity to reinforce its customer bond and contribute meaningfully to this significant cultural event.

Today I would like to talk about two ideas that were unique and seminal and changed the course of Indian polity irrevocably.

The first was Rajiv Gandhi’s ‘Sadbhavana Yatra’ which was undertaken by the great leader in 1990 at a time when our country was being torn apart by forces of casteism post the ‘Mandal Commission’ report.

32 years later his son the dynamic, daring, and charismatic Rahul Gandhi undertook his ‘Bharat Jodo yatra’ when India was fighting the ogre of communalism, the monster of hatred, and the multi-headed hydra of divisive forces.

Both ideas were singular, and both ushered in a renaissance of peace, amity, and tolerance and restored faith in the power of peace.

“Whenever virtue subsides and wickedness prevails, I manifest Myself. To establish virtue, to destroy evil, to save the good I come from Yuga (age) to Yuga,” declared Lord Krishna to his disciple Arjuna in Bhagavad Gita.

It would not be an exaggeration to say, that the Lord did not descend himself but inspired his apostles from two generations of the Gandhi family to usher in a fresh renaissance of peace, positivity, and brotherhood.

During his Yatra, Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “32 years ago, Papa started his Sadabhavna Yatra. He had sacrificed his life for the unity and integrity of India. Goodwill is the most unique value of humanity. I, and the Congress party, will not allow it to collapse in the face of any divisive force.”

Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra assumes added significance because the country is caught in the throes of a far more perilous situation than it was in the 1990s.

Our nation is being divided by right-wing organizations who want to implement and force their ideology and ensure that India is transformed into a Hindu Rashtra.

This will destroy the secular fabric of the country and blow to smithereens the ideals which our founding fathers fought and later stood for. In such a scenario we need a strong and vibrant leader to fight this scourge and this trailblazer, this architect of modern thought is Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi has proved to be a leader far ahead of his times, a sane voice in the madness and chaos that seems to be engulfing our nation. To prove my point let me elucidate:

Rahul had foretold that the demon of demonetization will destroy the unorganized sector and create a huge negative impact on small and medium businesses, especially in rural India. He has eventually been proved correct.

He was consistent in his stand on the need to manage Covid. He first predicted that the country needs to invest in vaccines and not relax after the first wave. His stand was vindicated when the second wave hit India and created havoc.

Rahul predicted that economic growth needs to be sustained with the impetus on small and medium businesses instead of big companies. Once again he was proved right with India grappling with the highest unemployment rate in its history – all a result of the myopic, self-serving, corrupt, and venal policies of the Modi Government.

Rahul Gandhi has been mocked, caricatured, maligned, and persecuted. An entire industry has been used to create fake videos to spread slander about him. Yet he has marched on persistent and determined to fight for the common man and do what he knows is right for the country.

He undertook the Bharat Jodo yatra in the most difficult of times. Despite suffering from a terrible knee issue, he continued his march. His schedule was achingly tough and strictly regimented, yet he carried on like a true soldier and a selfless brave heart. He completed the exercise of walking from south to north to unite the people and spread the message of love, peace, and unity.

I had the honor and the privilege to be a part of the historic yatra. The love, the adoration, and the respect he received from the men, women, and children were seen to be believed. He seemed to touch a chord wherever he went and to whomever he reached out. And this response was pure, pristine, and straight from the heart. It was not stage-managed and sponsored like the rallies we see by the political leaders of the ruling party.

The thumping success of Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ has proved that the people connect matters more than anything else. The Yatra was the catalyst that led to the resounding win of Congress over the party of hate mongers.

He has always epitomized the virtues of dignity and grace. When he was removed as an MP on trumped-up charges and made to vacate his bungalow, he responded with poise and pride.

He is one of the greatest leaders of the modern era who has set an example both in public and private life which is truly worthy of emulation. He has carried the legacy of his great family and stood like a lodestar guiding people in the toughest of times.

Let us rally behind this visionary leader and support him in his mission to fight the forces of hatred and once again usher in an era of growth and harmony. Let us pledge to make Rahul the beacon light who will take our country from hatred to love, violence to peace, and darkness to light…..

By Rajendar Dichpally

Let me begin by revisiting history. In 1915-16, Mahatma Gandhi journeyed across the length and breadth of the country. His objective was to understand the real India, and its differences in terms of caste, creed, and religion. His fight was against the forces of imperialism. More than a century later another individual carrying the same Surname has undertaken another seminal journey. This time not to understand but to explain the credo of India – an ethos that stands for harmony, trust, and togetherness. His fight is against the forces of imperialism.

Yes, you have guessed it right I am talking about Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo yatra’!

“Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come,” Victor Hugo the French novelist said ages ago. According to me Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo yatra’ is one such idea whose time has well and truly come.

Bharat Jodo Yatra is historic in many ways. It is being undertaken at a time when India is being torn apart by religious strife and when the fault lines between communities have deepened like never before. The role of all 4 pillars of democracy – Legislature, Executive, Judiciary, and Media media has been compromised. The country’s public sector undertakings which have been the backbone of the country’s infrastructure are being constantly eroded leading to massive private monopolies and uneven distribution of wealth in the country.
In this chaos when the average Indian is looking for a voice of sanity and peace Rahul Gandhi has undertaken one of the most strenuous and difficult exercises to assure the oppressed and the marginalized that he is committed to their cause.

I am reminded of a similar exercise undertaken by the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi who had embarked on a satbhavana yatra in 1990 when the nation was battling the scourge of casteism unleashed by VP Singh’s National Front and the curse of communalism cut loose by L.K. Advani’s Rath Yatra!

Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra has immense contemporary relevance because the country has been divided like never before on the basis of religion, region, caste, and creed. It is time for someone to pick up the gauntlet and show the true path of time-cherished values which India has always stood for.

Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra has been even more challenging because he is covering the entire distance from south to north barefoot. His yatra started on September 7th from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu and has so far covered Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh and after covering many more states will culminate in Srinagar in 2023.

A look at his daily schedule will throw light on the gritty man, his exemplary mission, and his brilliant vision. His typical day starts at 5:30 am in the morning and he walks on the common man’s path till 7:30 when he takes a short break for tea. He then resumes his yatra and walks till 10:30-11:30 am where he breaks for lunch and a short rest. He then resumes his yatra from 3 pm to 6 pm and has a public meeting or engagement with the people before he breaks for the day. This exercise has continued despite inclement weather and several impediments in this yatra.

It should be mentioned here that the yatra has shown the people the real face of Rahul Gandhi where he has come across as a very good human being, a caring person who really loves the country for which his family has sacrificed so much including the ultimate sacrifice to the nation by his father and grandmother. Rahul Gandhi also has shown how to fit he is during the course of the yatra as he has never complained of fatigue or any other issues despite the hectic schedule and engagements during the strenuous yatra that involves constant and continuous public engagement and media glare. It is very rare in politics to see a determined and strong person who despite hardships is determined to continue with the yatra that wants to fight the divisive forces of the country and unite the nation.

People from many walks of life interact with Rahul Gandhi on his Bharat Jodo yatra and he listens to their views and issues. His patience is non-pareil and his ability to connect is amazing. We see that he gives the same attention to the common man as he gives to any other celebrity who joins him in this historic yatra. Actors, writers, thinkers, spiritual leaders from different religions, school children, daily wage workers, retired Armed forces personnel, law and order officials, former judges, farmers, students, and others from different walks of life are marching with Rahul in this momentous journey. People like Tushar Gandhi (Great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi) and several intellectuals have reached out to Rahul Gandhi offering their support and encouragement.

This yatra will go down in history as one of the greatest initiatives of a leader who really cared for the country and wanted its citizens to work together and respect each other’s differences. This yatra will be remembered by generations for the effort and initiative by yet another member of the Nehru/ Gandhi family to come out of their comfort zone and risk their personal security and health for the greater cause of the nation. Let us hope that this will bring a positive and much-needed change and unity in the country.

When asked about his mission Rahul Gandhi said, “The spirit of the Yatra is to make the country focus on the attempt to change its nature. This country has never been fearful. Even in the worst of times, India was not scared. The people of India have a particular culture — the culture of compassion, respect, of affection. If you ask anybody — a villager, a billionaire, or the American President — they will say that India’s strength is compassion. You don’t believe it but the objective of the Yatra is not political. It is to remind the people what the true nature of this country is, what the culture and history of the country are, and what its DNA is. Where India stands today, if we continue moving on the same path, the country will suffer enormous damage both at the domestic and international levels.”

I admire Rahul Gandhi’s historic initiative of understating the Bharat Jodo Yatra in these difficult times and trying to unite and assure the country under a sane voice.
