Mulshi, Pune and Lonavala: Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, has always undertaken initiatives to ensure holistic development of its communities. In line with the philosophy, Tata Power’s Hydro division at Mulshi organised a Safety training program for students of Industrial Training Centre, Male (Mulshi). The training programme helped in guiding the students on modern safety measures required while working in industry.
The safety program was conducted by Mr. Bhushan Patil, Group Head – Safety, Tata Power, Hydro Division. The programme was graced by the presence of Mr. Dilip Kawade, Senior Specialist, TPCDT Bhira Division, Mr. Wajge, Principal, ITI Male, Ms. Trupti Thorat, Instructor, ITI Male along with faculty members from ITI Male (Mulshi). The program was organized as a part of Tata Volunteer Week for the period of 5th September to 7th October, 2017.
Speaking on the achievement, Mr. Ashwinikumar Patil- Head – Hydros, Tata Power said, “We, at Tata Power have always prioritised safety as a core parameter at the work place. We follow a strong compliance with regards to safety issues at all levels of our operations. The safety training for the ITI students at Male will further reinforce our commitment for a safer workplace and ensure that students from the ITI will further spread awareness on safety in the workplace beyond the periphery of Tata Power.”
The training session was extremely beneficial for the students. The session started with Mr. Bhushan Patil, Group Head – Safety, Tata Power, Hydro Division explaining on the significance of safety, classification of safety control practices and classification of various hazards at the operations. The presentations were interactive ensuring better understating among the students. Further, Mr. Dilip Kawade, Senior Specialist discussed on the importance of safety in daily life and industry.
The training session was a part of the initiative undertaken by Tata Power Community Development Trust Team of Mulshi location under Bhira Division, which happens every year, to impart Industrial Safety session to the newly joined students of the and faculty members of ITI Male. During the session, Mr. Wajge, Principal, ITI Male expressed the need and importance of safety at the workplace along with quality & productivity in present competitive industrial world. He also emphasized on how knowledge sharing on quality assurance helps in helps ITI-students in their career-path and building a bright future.
