INDIA: Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power utility, today, issued an advisory against the fraudulent sale of LED Bulbs in the name of the company. This advisory is in reference to the recent incident occurred with Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL) wherein an unidentified person was sighted selling fake labelled LED Bulbs illegally under Tata Power’s name.
The person was seen selling a fake pack of 4 LED Bulbs priced at Rs. 100. He was observed and questioned by an employee of the company who also captured the entire activity on his phone, post which the person fled from the incident and is still absconding. Tata Power-DDL has filed a police complaint and will be initiating legal action against the fraudster for this nefarious act.
Commenting on the incident, Tata Power spokesperson said, “At Tata Power, we have always strived to add value to the lives of our customers. We are keeping a tab of such fraudulent malpractices and wish to alert the customers of such fake products. We would also like to urge them to purchase LED bulbs only through our designated distribution channels only and inform us at toll-free number 19124( for Delhi residents) or 1800-208-9124( if residing outside Delhi) in case they come across such fake products.”
Over the years, Tata Power has launched various exchange and new purchase programs for customers with various respectable entities selling LED bulbs to them at a discounted rate thereby, encouraging them to switch to energy-efficient practices
