Tata Sons hosts Canadian delegation led by the Honorable Minister of Innovation, Science & Economic Development, Mr. Navdeep Bains
Mumbai, November 10, 2016: Mr. Harish Bhat, Head, Business Development, Tata Sons, and Dr. Mukund Rajan, Head of Sustainability and Chief Ethics Officer, Tata Sons, along with senior representatives from Tata companies, hosted a Canadian delegation led by the Honorable Minister of Innovation, Science & Economic Development, Canada, Mr. Navdeep Bains, in Mumbai today. During the bilateral meeting, Tata Sons appraised the Minister of the Tata group’s presence and operations in Canada. Both sides highlighted emerging economic opportunities in Canada and India, and also discussed various possibilities of collaborating closely in cutting-edge research, innovation and technology development across sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Harish Bhat, said, “Canada is an important geography for the Tata group, to which we have a long term commitment. Today, we are happy to have the presence of seven operating companies of the Tata group in Canada, representing sectors such as IT, Automobile, Communications, Chemicals, Beverages & Steel, to name a few. Collectively, the Tata group employs over 4,000 people directly in Canada and has combined revenues exceeding US$ 2 Billion annually. Further, sizeable investments from the group in Canada are underway which will significantly strengthen our presence in the country. We have had fruitful discussions with Hon. Minister Bains, and look forward to the Canadian Government’s and his own continued support.”
