The Annual Literary, Logical/Critical Thinking & Cultural Festival will be held on 26th November
Pune, November 10, 2016: Teach For India, a nationwide movement that aims to eliminate inequity in education in India and part of the global Teach For All network, will conduct SHOUTT, its annual Literacy, Logical/Critical Thinking and Cultural Festival for school students from underprivileged societies in Pune, on November 26, 2016.
SHOUTT is an initiative by Teach For India Fellows, that provides a platform for students coming from under-resourced communities in Pune to nurture their talent outside academics and to develop extra-curricular skills.
Commenting on SHOUTT, Sandeep Rai, Senior Director, Program, Teach For India, said, “Teach For India strives to provide students from underprivileged communities to the world of resourceful learning. This would be a fantastic opportunity children to walk out with a sense of ownership, build long-lasting connections, and foster love for creative learning.”
Last year, SHOUTT saw participation from around 600 students from 30 schools across Pune. This year, with a team of 32 dedicated Fellows, Teach For India Pune aims to reach out to as many children as possible. This year Teach For India has doubled its reach and has already received registrations from 45 schools with over 1200 students.
