4th edition of Dajikaka Gadgil Karandak by PNG Jewellers gets overwhelming response
Pune: Team Rangpandhari, Pune emerged victorious with their one act play Nirupan in the Dajikaka Gadgil Karandak , One Act Play Competition presented by PNG Jewellers . The final rounds were held at Bharat Natya Mandir on Saturday and Sunday. Natyamalhar Pratisthan Ahmednagar with their one act play Rangabavari bagged the runners up prize while Rubaroo Productions Mumbai’s one act play Gharwale Dulhaniya De Jayange emerged third. In its fourth year , Dajikaka Gadgil Karandak got an overwhelming response of more than 150 entries,breaking the geographical barrier of a state level competition with participation from Goa and as many as eight teams from Indore . The prize distribution ceremony was held in presence of Saurabh Gadgil , CMD PNG Jewellers , competition convener and well known director Ajay Naik , jury members Pravin Tarde , Pradeep Vaidya, Radhika Kakatkar Ingle , Amit Phalke and Ashutosh Paradkar . The starcast and team of upcoming movie Triple Seat including Ankush Chaudhary , Shivani Surve and Pallavi Patil also graced the occasion to promote their film. The awards were given in the categories of Writer, Director, Actor (Female & Male), Producer, Art Director & Lights Expert. The award was in the form of a certificate , cash prize and a trophy for the winners. The preliminary rounds were held in September.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Saurabh Gadgil, CMD of PNG Jewellers said, “Theater and Drama have a strong legacy in Maharashtra. Dajikaka Gadgil himself was a great promoter of this Art form. This was the reason we launched this platform. I believe that when it comes to art , there is a lot of hidden talent in our youth. Dajikaka Gadgil Karandak is a platform for youngsters to come forward and showcase their talent. I am happy with the resounding success that Dajikaka Gadgil Karandak has got in its fourth year. ”
Ajay Naik who conceptualized & organized the structure of the competition right from its inception said that the fact that first entry came from Kolhapur despite heavy rains is a testimony to the popularity this competition is gaining all across. Not only participants, but we have also been getting audiences from outside Maharashtra . This gives us immense satisfaction.
The jury members also spoke about their experience and hailed the performances and supreme talent that youngsters possess. They were particularly happy about the choices of subjects from various teams
