54 hours of experiencing the highs and lows, fun and pressure that goes into building and operating a startup, kept The Daftar, Baner buzzing with activity this weekend. From meeting the experts from the industry, forming a community and associating with investors, co founders and sponsors, the aspiring women entrepreneurs got to connect, discover, learn and start!
Staying in the Daftar facility, they interacted and ideated for 54 hours straight without any outside interference. After picking the suitable project ideas, the participants formed teams and started the brainstorming on Friday. They were provided special assistance on Saturday, as they got to pick their mentors for the day and receive their expert guidance. After getting a brief on how start ups function and how to present, they performed a mock presentation in front of the mentors on Sunday morning.
Sunday evening was the final day of judgement with an impressive panel of judges including Dharini Turakia, public speaker and owner of Fahrenheit chain of salons. She has been conferred with several awards in her career, the most prestigious being the Femina Power List. And Neeraj Shah, founder and director at Silver Bright. He is also an avid reader and a fitness enthusiast. A firm believer that the best use of life is to spend it for something that outlasts it.
Startup Weekend helped the women entrepreneurs to network, work on a project, pitch an idea in 60 seconds and create a cross-functional team to work in a women’s inclusive environment. The weekend culminated with a dinner celebrating all the hard work and success in the company of the mentors, judges and other teams.
