From Aditya Puri, Brand Manager, Giovani
It’s 2019 and men are breaking more style rulebooks than ever before. The old world is becoming new again in the form of simplifying your look, subtle tones of colour, and smart details that pack a blow. Mr. Aditya Puri, Brand Manager, Giovani shares the fresh guidelines that will set the tone for all 2019 men’s formal attire.
Simplify Your Look
When it comes to tailoring, many men want to experiment with the accessories. But generally, you do not need a tie pin, collar bar, pocket square sagging out of every pocket. Pair it minimal and let the suit– do the chatting. The year 2019 is all about being natural. So, to wear a simple look – ditch the pocket square and opt for a plain tie with a well-fitted shirt.
‘Slim fit’ has rule conventional clothing over the past decade, but it’s on its way out, especially when it comes to smart attire. Unfortunately ‘slim fit’ tends to decipher as ‘too tight’ and nobody wants a suit they can’t even do up. For 2019, a suit should be suitable, not contouring, so look for wider cuts that balance your body shape rather than constrain it.
Blue and greys will always be the most prominent options in menswear, but a vibrant suit can make for a striking choice. This year, if you are in a dilemma stick to earthy colours of greens and browns, which are pleasing for most skin tones and keep the rest of the look simple to allow the suit to take centre stage.
Last but not least, and the most operative way of altering your formal attire is smart knitwear. Simply switch your shirt for a fine gauge knit – that can be a crew or a roll neck. This c helps to strip away the business-like implications of the suit, and gives off a modern look and feel that modesty can’t be achieved with a conventional formal look.
