MUMBAI: TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.” TEDx brings the spirit of TED to local communities around the globe through TEDx events.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, which has grappled our country and the entire world for more than eight months now. The Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering, Mumbai will be hosting the TEDxCRCE 5th annual event virtually at the Zoom conference at 4:00 PM on 7th November bringing together speakers from diverse and varied backgrounds.
The theme for TEDxCRCE 2020 is “Shifting Gears” under which we TEDxCRCE 2020 aims to bring to stage ideas and conversations about how the course of life takes an unexpected turn in a completely different direction and how important that turn often is in making us who we are. Your goals cannot be achieved overnight, you need to go through different incremental phases, as change is a gradual process and it requires determination and discipline to follow through.
The program will be featuring six speakers from diverse fields, including Journalism-Media, Business, Music, and Social, amongst others. The name of speakers is as follow:
Director of TEDxCRCE Ms. Meera Ghaskadvi said, “TEDxCRCE is the fifth independently held TEDx Event of FRCRCE, Mumbai. With a total of 6 speakers cumulating the spirit of TED’s mission, “Ideas Worth Spreading”, we strive to recreate the unique experience found at TED, where the world’s leading thinkers and doers congregate to share what they are most passionate about”.
“We aim to provide a platform where the smartest thinkers, greatest visionaries, and most fascinating teachers will be inspired and will have the opportunity to inspire others through our theme “Shifting Gears”. We wish to highlight how taking risks, accepting changes, and facing challenges help us achieve success.” said, Pragati Rao, Curator, TEDxCRCE
The event was planned to be held in-person with videos of individual talks released later on, but organizers shifted to making it an online broadcast due to the pandemic. One advantage of the new format is that it will allow more people to participate in the full event.
The talks for this event would be pre-recorded and broadcasted live on the day of our event. The same videos will also be uploaded on the official TEDx Youtube channel with 27.6 million subscribers.
