PUNE: TiE Pune, a non-profit global network that fosters entrepreneurship, organized a live event under its initiative My Story Session (MSS) recently. Atul Nishar an eminent entrepreneur with a successful track record, as the Founder of Aptech Limited, Co-Founder of Azent Overseas Education, and Chairman of Hexaware Technologies, was the keynote speaker. The program was moderated by Ganesh Natarajan, Chairman, 5F World, and Ex CEO, Zensar.
The event traced the success story of Atul Nishar from a humble beginning in Mumbai to emerging as a globally successful entrepreneur and investor.
Atul, an acclaimed serial entrepreneur with a string of successful companies recounted his entrepreneurial journey. He opined that “success starts with hunger.”Expressing his views he mentioned that he had always been obsessed with the scale and according to him there was nothing that could be considered as small, beautiful, and profitable. “If you don’t scale up someone else will, and will eat you away,” he said, and the “two pillars on which scale stands are strategy and people.’’
Atul’s leadership mantra centers on passion, energy, and enthusiasm. The experience he stated was overrated. He emphasized the importance of building long term good relationships, based on strong accountability and review systems. Investor relations needed good planning he added. The role of a good management team coupled with good teamwork was also mentioned as vital component of success.
Further elaborating on what made entrepreneurs and start-ups successful, he highlighted benchmarking, thinking global and moving from mere problem fixes (which are inherent to any start-up) to looking beyond and getting to the root and evaluating the process itself to correct any lapses.
He ended with some optimistic advice and said enjoying your work, having fun, taking life in a lighter way would greatly help build morale.
Ganesh Natarajan, Chairman, 5F World, and Ex CEO, Zensar moderated the session and said that Atul Nishar had always been a humble, people’s man.
