PUNE: JSPM’s Rajarshi Shahu College Of Engineering Tathawade Campus, Department of Civil Engineering had organized a Two Day National Workshop on ‘Climate Change Mitigation and Adaption’ Sponsored by SPPU on 23rd and 24th January 2020.
Overview on the topic Climate Change Mitigation and Adaption and was given by Dr. Gajanan Sabnis (Emeritus Professor, Howard University, USA).
Presiding note and key Note address was delivered by Dr. T. I Eldho, (Head Of Civil Engineering Department (IIT, Bombay).Dr.T I Eldhoen listed the reasons for the climatic change in India through a case study and alsoen lightened about the land use,prediction, mitigation for the climate Change and the importance of climatic modeling.
Dr. Mategaonkar Meenal (NMIMS Mumbai, Maharashtra) delivered a lecture on the effect of climate Change on Ground water. Dr.Hengade Narendra (Wetinfra Engineering Services, Kondwa Pune) also enlightened the importance of Assessment of Land use Land cover and Climatic Change on Hydrology and Water Resouces with Case study on Godavari River Basin.
On Day Two of WorkshopDr. AswiniKulkarni.(Center for Climate Change Research IITM Pashan Pune) did a lecture on Science of Climate Change. Dr.GopalNaik, (Prof. of Civil Engineering Osmania University, Hyderabad) discussed about the Urban Water Crisis and Climatic Change. Dr. Avinash Garudkar (Professor and Head , Faculty of Engineering, WALMI, Aurangabad) had delivered a lecture on Effect of Climate Change on water resources of the Country – National Action Plan on Climate Change. Dr. Shashikanth Kulkarni (Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, University College of Engineering, Osmania University, Hyderabad)interacted with the participants on Regional Simulation of Precipitation and Temperature.
Dr. R. K Jain (Director), Dr. P. P. Vitkar (Director Tathawade Campus), Prof. Sudhir Bhilare (Executive Director Tathawade Campus) and Shri. Ravi Sawant (Dy. Director, Tathawade Campus), Prof. A.S. Devasthali (Vice-Principal), Dr. R A Dubal (HoD Civil ), Dr. S. S. Shahapure(coordinator) have provided their valuable guidance so as to make this event successful.
