U.S. Consul General David J. Ranz and Chef Sanjeev Kapoor share a moment while cooking Dahi Bhalla with U.S. blueberries. The episode, part of the #TasteOfAmerica Masterclass series, will air on Food Food Channel on December 2
MUMBAI: The U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai is partnering with celebrity chef, entrepreneur, and TV personality Sanjeev Kapoor to promote U.S. food products available in India through the #TasteofAmerica Masterclass Series online and on the Food Food TV channel. We are excited to share popular, local recipes with an American twist, highlighting the quality, variety, value, and versatility of U.S. food products that complement local tastes and preferences. This campaign demonstrates the ready availability of U.S. foods in India through various retail outlets, both online and offline.
U.S. Consul General David J. Ranz, an enthusiastic supporter of “food diplomacy,” said, “It is a privilege to cook with one of India’s most renowned chefs, Sanjeev Kapoor while showcasing amazing U.S. food products now available in India. Chef Kapoor is the perfect pick to reshape classic, Indian recipes using high-quality American food ingredients. This collaboration is another example of how the food, culinary styles, and traditions of the United States and India blend together perfectly.”
Celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, said “I take great pleasure to be a part of this wonderful collaboration with #TasteOfAmerica. Apart from the local and indigenous foods that we are bestowed with, it’s fantastic that we are able to taste some of the other fresh, nutritious, and exotic ingredients from overseas yearlong – California Walnuts and Almonds, Washington Apples, US Cranberries, USA Pears, Oregon Hazelnuts and so many more foods which make a great addition to our health and daily diets. Since all these nutrient-dense supplies are season-specific in our country, the availability of these ingredients enables us to enjoy them when our local produce is not in season. I’m glad to partner in this initiative and happy to cook along with the U.S Consul General as a part of the Masterclass series.”
The #TasteofAmerica Masterclass Series launched on November 12, 2020, and will continue until December 30, 2020, with new creative recipes and life hack videos to be released every week on the social media accounts of the U.S. Consulate General Mumbai, Taste of America, and Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, under the hashtag #ToASanjeevKapoorMasterclass. This series will also be featured on the Food Food TV channel with two special cooking episodes airing on December 2and 16, respectively.
