This Saturday, Pune witnessed a prodigious gala that showcased the Brand Launch of ‘India Fashion Walk’ and celebrated the success of the Mercedes Benz GLA that completed the Great overLand Adventure.
India Fashion Walk, an event conceptualized to become one of India’s most Premier Fashion Event offers a breakthrough platform for homegrown talent and local as well as national designers across India. This brand launch showed glimpses of designs by sever Pune designers including Shweta Divgi, Mystic Quartz by Tanvi Ejrekar, Runway Ready by Prerna & Justine, a grand finale by Jhelum Fashion House, and footwear sponsored by Nupur Chaudhuri.
The event also celebrated the grand success of the Mercedes-Benz GLA. Mercedes Benz India embarked on a one-of-its-kind world tour with one of the most versatile SUVs in its portfolio – the GLA. Christened as the ‘Great overLand Adventure (GLA), the ‘India Made’ GLA was put to a realistic endurance test as it undertook this epic road trip traversing across varied geographies and climates across the globe. The GLA which rolled-out of Mercedes-Benz India’s Pune production plant traversed across six continents, seventeen countries and clocked more than 50,000 kms, before returning to Pune.
The ‘Great overLand Adventure’s unique journey flagged-off in the middle of July from Mercedes-Benz India production plant in Pune, and traversed across varying geographies and traveled through Europe, Northern and South Africa, North and South America, Australia and Asia. The tour promised to present a medley of diverse people and their culture from across the world, new places that many have not explored earlier, and also to celebrate various events and festivities across the 17 countries enroute.
The one of a kind event ws curated by WFT Pune, in association with Mercedes-Benz Trinity Motors.
Nishant Shekhawat, Director, WFT India says, “We conceptualised this event in order to bring forward the talent of designers from Tier 2 cities, as well as to help them seamlessly connect with media, buyers and the direct consumers. The main idea is to help enhance the business of fashion for them as well as for the hosting city.”

The event ended with a Wine and Cheese session catered by Grandiose Hospitality, and was attended by dignitaries, local celebrities, prominent entrepreneurs and business owners, HNIS, NRIs, corporates, socialites and other such patrons of the premium lifestyle segment.
