After 18 years of service in the Military Police, Nagendran C enjoys the respect with which he is treated as an Uber partner and the quality of passengers he ferries across Bangalore everyday. In his words, ‘I am not a driver for Uber, I am a pillar for Uber, I am the root’. Nagendran has one daughter and two sons – one of whom is in the process of becoming an Uber partner himself.

Sujit has served the borders from 2002 – 2012 across states of Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal and Punjab. His son studies in one of the most reputed schools in Kolkata and he dreams to see his son as an Army General.

Karthikeyan, our partner in Uber Coimbatore served the Indian Army in the harsh region of Kupwara, J & K. Despite several trials over many years after his return, he just wasn’t able to strike the right chord and settle into a satisfactory routine with less financial anxiety. He heard about Uber long before we launched in Coimbatore and joined us without a second thought. Today, Karthikeyan is independent and more importantly has complete control over his own life. He can focus on his work and spend quality time with his family without stressing over what the future holds.
“I work for Uber because it enables me to follow the discipline that has been a part of my life for so long.”

One of his sons is a BMS doctor, other a CA final student and his daughter, an Assistant Engineer with the electricity board.
Here’s wishing them and all of you a very Happy Independence Day. Jai Hind!
