Pune: New technology in the construction industry is growing by leaps and bounds and keeping the professionals at par with the latest trends is a must. Therefore, established with an objective to improve quality, knowledge, technology, research and developments in the field of Construction, Pune Construction Engineering Research Foundation (PCERF) is introducing, ‘Value Added Courses’ for the working professionals of construction industry. This is a kind of training programme which will cater to the requirements that a construction business requires and will focus on adding value, reducing costs, improving quality of the construction work and enhancing capabilities related to this field.
Vishwas Lokare, Vice-President from PCERF shared the details about this new initiative in a Press Conference held in the city today. Shrikant Nivasarkar – President, Naren Kothari – Vice President, Sanjay Vaichal – Hon. Secretary and Neelkanth Joshi – Executive Committee Member from PCERF were also present on the occasion.
With an aim to enhance and upgrade the capabilities of the employees of construction organisations, PCERF will be conducting this Management Development training programme. These training sessions will enable them to adapt and be at par to the rapidly changing technologies, laws and developing business environment.
Designed especially for the supervisory and managerial staff of the construction companies, the training comprises of 30 topics relevant to various aspects of the construction of high-rise buildings. The topics include, safety, cost saving techniques, project management, latest trends in construction related activities, waste & debris management and many more. During this training programme, the participants will receive knowledge about the latest cutting edge methods, systems, equipment and processes.
Based on multiple modules, the duration of the training will depend on the number of topics that will be selected by the participants. During this training programme the interested participants will be accompanied by the faculty for practicals on sites or in laboratories. The faculty comprises of senior practising professionals with a vast experience in construction field and will focus on resolving the issues through their practical experience.
Shrikant Nivsarkar, President PCERF, mentioned, “In Technical Education, in our schools and colleges, subject generally comprises of knowledge and skills, which is easier to impart and measure the competence level of the student. The level of knowledge and skills acquired ascertains the level of technical competence. To experience the true benefit of any profession, it is important to complement technical competence with social competence. The combination of technical and social competence helps to make a responsible professional. PCERF’s objective is to complement each programme by integrating the appropriate methods to build social competence.”
This training programme will be flagged off from the month of October this year and will be conducted at a centralised location or the construction sites with the suitable date and time of the participants. Certified by PCERF and the Construction Industries Development Council (CIDC) of Govt. of India, the participants will also receive certificates after completing their training programme.
