Pune: Pune based Vishwakarma Publications who have emerged as rapidly growing publishers with many significant titles in both English and Marathi, have organized a nation-wide writing contest, Views and Vistas.
Views and Vistas is a writing contest that aims to bring many first-time authors into contact with their readers. Open to all authors above 18 years of age who have never before had a book published, this contest is open till September 30, and gives writers a chance to express themselves in both, fiction, and non-fiction. Prize-winners will receive cash prizes and have their books published, of course, but shortlisted entries are also likely to be picked up for contracts of future books. The contest will be judged by a panel of eminent writers whose names will be revealed on the 31st of August.
Views and Vistas hopes to be the vehicle that not only encourages original, creative fiction, but also honest, engaging, and perhaps humorous accounts of our everyday reality in the form of both fiction and non-fiction
Beginning in 2013 with the publication of Kahani Namochi, the Marathi translation of Kingshuk Nag’s book on the rise of Narendra Modi, this publishing house is now set to bring Ronnie Screwvala’s book Dream With Your Eyes Open to Marathi readers later this year.
Along the way, many authors have chosen to publish their manuscripts with Vishwakarma Publications, among them entrepreneurs like Arun Firodia, Pralhad P. Chhabria, Kiran Bhat and subject experts like Aparna Sharma on HR, Drs. Sanjeevan and Vaidehi Deodhar on planned parenting, and first time authors Mandar Karanjkar and Dakshayani Athalye who have written the fresh and acclaimed book on love: Pi Premachi Kimmat Kay?
If you are a writer looking to reach a wider audience and win recognition, Views and Vistas is for you.
