On the occasion of “WORLD ARTHRITIS DAY”, PUNE ORTHOPEDIC SOCEITY successfully conducted WALKATHON 2017 On Sunday 15th Oct 2017 at 7 am.
Theme for WALKATHON 2017 is “WALK FOR HEALTHY BONES & JOINTS “ organized by PUNE ORTHOPEDIC SOCEITY and conducted by Sancheti Hospital .
The event was a walk from Sancheti Hospital till Pune Unversity via Ganesh kind road and coming back to Sancheti Hospital.
The event was flagged off by Hon. Mayor Mrs Mukta Tilak and Commissioner of Police Mrs Rashmi Shukla.
Participants included all Renowned Orthopedic Surgeons, Physiotherapist and General Public from Pune. Total 200 participants were present.
Hon. Mayor Mrs Mukta Tilak said: In Pune almost more than 200 parks are available also night parks are developed. My urge to Punekar do walk for being for healthier life. I do congratulate Pune Orthopedic Society and Sancheti Hospital for organizing WALKATHON 2017 – “WALK FOR HEALTHY BONES & JOINTS “.
Commissioner of Police Mrs Rashmi Shukla said : Walking is best exercise for our body and bones. I do walk daily morning and feel very energetic during my whole day of working. Happy to see the initiative taken by Pune Orthopedic Society and Sancheti Hospital for organizing WALKATHON 2017
Pune Orthopedic Society Predient Dr Neeraj Adkar said : Do Exercise for 30 minutes to maintain good healthy life and also maintain good balance diet with exercise .
Pune Orthopedic Society Secretary Dr Prashant Tonape said : I will just add to the quote of Dr Neeraj Adkar saying add yoga also with walking.
Chairman of Sancheti Hospital Dr Parag Sancheti said : Walk for Healthy Bones .Regular brisk long walks improve bone density and mobility. Range-of-motion exercises increase the amount of movement in a joint and muscle.
