Pune, February 22, 2019: Welingkar Institute of Management Research and Development (WeSchool) will be organising career counselling sessions for students in Pune on February 23 (Saturday) between 10 am to 7 pm at two different locations in the city.
Students can walk in at these two locations to understand from experts the career opportunities in some of the fastest-growing and dynamic industries for the millennials. These include – Media and Entertainment, Sports Management and Family Managed Business/Entrepreneurship programs.
For Media and Entertainment (M&E) sector, India is the place to be. The industry is set to grow at a faster pace of 10.55% Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR), outshining the global average of 4.2% CAGR. Indian M&E sector will touch $45.1 billion by 2021, up from $27.3 billion at the end of 2016. The growth in 2017 was led by digital, film, gaming and events sectors.
“Students need to understand the changing face of these industries and how they can get the best possible training to get a job in there. We will also inform them about the skill sets and grooming needed to make it in the M&E, sports and business world,” stated a WeSchool counsellor.
A vast majority of family-controlled businesses experience difficulties like moving from one-person general management to an institutionalised competence that results in competitive fitness across generations. Young Punekars can get insights on how to make an existing successful business even more competitive and also solve their queries about how to professionally manage and grow their family business.
This counselling session on Entrepreneurship is ideal for young business owners, members of the family business, women entrepreneurs and final year graduation students planning to join their family business.
