New Delhi: Microsoft today announced the commencement of the India chapter of Upgrade Your World, a worldwide year-long initiative that celebrates people and organizations who inspire and empower others. As part of this, the company will partner with 10 NGOs in the country and support them with a monetary donation of $50,000 each (totaling half a million dollars for 10 NGOs), and a combination of Microsoft technology, services, and promotional activities. Microsoft has selected five nonprofits, namely Aga Khan Rural Support Program, Enable India, Magic Bus, Smile Foundation, and Udayan Care, and has invited people around the country to vote for their favourite local nonprofit organizations via social media to help select the additional five organizations.
Bhaskar Pramanik, Chairman, Microsoft India, said, “Upgrade Your World is led by our vision to help people achieve more through technology, in celebration of the Windows 10 launch. It is inspiring and heartening to see the work these organizations are doing in India to upgrade the world. Their efforts are driving real and positive change in several communities and people across the country.
