New Delhi: The Delhi unit of Congress on Monday expressed serious concern over the rising crimes against women and alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government was yet to deliver on the “tall promises” of making the city safer for women.
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Sharmistha Mukherjee condemned the murder, and possibly sexual abuse, of an 11-year-old girl at Bawana on April 25.
“We condemn the incident. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated case. Almost everyday there is some report of rape or molestation. It is getting worse. We are seriously concerned about such incidents,” she said. She said Ajay Maken had sought an appointment with Najeeb Jung to take up the rising incidents of rape and molestation of women here.
