PUNE: CII Pune organised its 24th Annual Meeting on Thursday, 22nd February 2024 at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Pune. Following the Annual Meeting, the Council announced Mr Kiran Acharya, Managing Director & CFO, Sandvik Coromant India Pvt Ltd as the Chairman of CII Pune Zonal Council for the year 2024-25.
Kiran Acharya has completed his CA, CS and LL.B & is carrying 35 years of enriching Local & International experience in the field of Finance, Tax, Compliance, Audit, Secretarial and Legal.
Acharya, In his 20 years of working experience with Sandvik, has held various positions locally and globally including international taxation and transfer price besides CFO. He has also handled M&A and Corporate restructuring and multiple local & global projects. Prior to rejoining Sandvik in 2019, he has worked as Global CFO for Sigma Electric.
Rajnikant Behera, Executive Director, RSB Transmissions (I) Ltd has been nominated as the Vice Chairman of CII Pune Zonal Council for the year 2024-25.
Rajnikant Behera serves as the Executive Director – Group Finance, bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise. He holds a Master’s degree from Leeds University Business School, UK, and is a certified Green Belt in Six Sigma from the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Associate Six Sigma Institute in Illinois, US.
With nearly two decades of dedicated association to the Group, Rajnikant plays a pivotal role in leading various capital-raising transactions, including cross-border M&A. In his current capacity, he collaborates closely with finance leadership teams, offering strategic insights, overseeing governance and legal compliances, and providing leadership in financial planning and analysis.
Outgoing Chairman of CII Pune Zonal Council Shujaul Rehman Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Garware Technical Fibres Ltd gave the welcome address and presented an annual review of the activities of CII Pune last year.
A session on Building ‘BHARAT’ through Sustainable & Innovative Approach was organised at the Annual Meeting. An MoU was signed between CII Western Region and TIFAC ( Technology Information, Forecasting & Assessment Council – An Autonomous body under Department of Science & Technology, Govt. ) for a formal collaboration for promoting Innovation, Technology Development and Assessment in Industry in presence of Dr Pradeep Srivastava Executive Director TIFAC, Pratima Kirloskar Chairperson, CII WR Sub-Committee on R&D, Innovation & Digitalisation and Promoter Group, Kirloskar Brothers Ltd and Dr Rajesh Kapoor Regional Director CII Western Region.
The CII Pune office was also handed over the IGBC Green Interior Gold Certification during the session .
In his special address Dr K Nandakumar,Chairman, CII Maharashtra State Council said that Despite the numerous risks, Indian economy is expected to remain resilient supported by robust domestic demand and strong growth in manufacturing and services sectors. The Government of India has set a target of making India the third largest economy by 2027. With a proactive government and an enabling policy framework, I am confident that this target is well within our reach.
K S Venkatagiri, Executive Director, CII Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre said that companies are realising the importance of going green not only from the point of view of business from but also from overall existential perspective
Sudeep Mehrotra Chief Executive Officer- Asset Management Welspun One we are witnessing India which we have never seen before . He mentioned five elements that affect businesses which include infrastructure, regulations, environment and ecosystem, technology and consumers.
Dr Pradeep Srivastava Executive Director TIFAC said that TIFAC but has doing activities beyond drawing road map, including policy for bio fuels with NITI AYOG .
