NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel has achieved a significant milestone in the Indian telecommunications industry by announcing that it has over 50 million unique 5G customers on its network within a year of launching Airtel 5G Plus services. The company has achieved one of the fastest rollouts in the country, with 5G services now available across all districts in India, except for districts in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Naxal-affected areas of Chhattisgarh, and the islands of Lakshadweep, which are connected through VSAT.
Randeep Sekhon, CTO of Bharti Airtel, expressed his excitement at the speed of the adoption of 5G by millions of customers and the big expansion of Airtel’s 5G coverage. He stated that the company is thrilled to have reached this milestone earlier than planned and that the expansion continues at full speed. He is confident that Airtel will continue to rapidly multiply as it works towards nationwide coverage and enables all its customers to enter the 5G age.
