PUNE: Dr Sonia Nagarale, Associate Professor at the Department of Law with an additional charge of Senior Law officer of the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has been awarded with the prestigious PRCI C. J. Jayanth Memorial Award 2024 at the hands of Shripad Naik , Union Minister of State for Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy during the 18th PRCI Global Communication Conclave held at Mangalore recently. Dr. Nagarale has been associated with PRCI since 2011 and is currently the Chairperson of PRCI Pune Chapter.
PRCI, the Public Relations Council of India is the National Council of Communication Professionals at large, which has around 59 Chapters across the Nation and it also has 8 International Chapters. To recognize the Talent, Expertise, and Contribution of the Professionals from the Communication Industry and Academia, every year PRCI organizes its Global Communication Conclave in various cities in India and this year it was held at Mangalore, Karnataka. The award is in the form of a memento and a certificate.
Dr. Sonia B. Nagarale has over 20 years of professional experience across various domains like Constitutional Law, Human Rights, Media Law, Administrative Law, Criminology and Penology, Medical Jurisprudence, and Forensic Science. Dr. Nagarale’s literary contributions are noteworthy, with authored works including ‘Media Laws and Ethics’ for Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication, ‘Biomedical Waste Management – Medico-Legal Contours’, ‘Legislative Privileges in India Law, Procedure & Precedents’, co-authorship in ‘Reference Points for the Design and Delivery of Degree Programmes in Law’ and A Socio-legal analysis of Female Genital Mutilation/cutting – An overview.
