PUNE: City-based Indi Heritage and Parimal and Pramod Chaudhari Foundation are jointly organizing a MasterClass on ‘Women Deities’ ahead of the upcoming Navratri season. Renowned expert on iconography and former Chancellor of Deccan College, Dr. G. B. Deglurkar, will deliver this MasterClass on Saturday, September 20th, at 10 am at the Firodia Hall of Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute on Law College Road.
The MasterClass is open to all. Idols of various Goddesses are carved in many ancient Indian temples and caves. This masterclass will throw some light on aspects of philosophy related to the ‘Shakta’ tradition, characteristics of the idols of Goddesses, the devotion tradition, and the social culture.
