PUNE: Bengaluru-based Gururao Deshpande Sangeet Sabha and Pune-based Alpha Events in association with Kishor Pumps are organizing Pandit Vinayak Torvi Amrit Mahotsav, under which various programs of Indian Classical Music shall be held in different cities of the country in the coming year. The first program under this initiative will be held at MES Auditorium, BSM School, Mayur Colony, Kothrud, Pune at 9:30 am on Sunday, September 3rd. Entry to the program is free on a first come first serve basis.
The program will have a vocal recital of Kasturi Datar Atrawalkar. She will be accompanied by Arun Gawai (Tabla) and Leeladhar Chakradev (Harmonium). Subsequently, there would be a Tabla Solo performance of veteran artist Pandit Yogesh Samsi. Milind Kulkarni will accompany him on Harmonium. Neerja Apte will play the anchor for the program.
During this program, Pandit Vinayak Torvi will be felicitated at the hands of Pujya Swami Shrikantanadaji of Ramakrishna Math, Pune. Renowned musicians Suyog Kundalkar and Shruti Bhat (Disciple of Pandit Torvi) will make tribute speeches on the occasion.
