PUNE: Music admirers can now look forward to an evening filled with soulful Sitar strings and heartwarming Vocals during ‘Riwayat’ – a musical tribute in the memory of a renowned Sitarist, Ustad Hameed Khan. Presented by Suhana Basant Foundation and Triguna School of Performing Arts, ‘Riwayat’ will take place on Friday, 19th January from 5 pm onwards at the Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Auditorium, Ghole Road. Entry to this recital is free and open to all on a first-come first served basis.
The musical evening will witness the Sitar Ensemble, Vocal Ensemble, and Hindustani Vocal by Ustad Arshad Ali Khan. He will be accompanied by Amol Mali on Tabla and Gangadhar Shinde on Harmonium.
“The Sitar ensemble was originally composed by Late Ustad Hameed Khan of Dharwad Gharana. And to pay our humble tribute to him, we’ve organized ‘Riwayat,” informed Ustad Rais Bale Khan, renowned Sitarist and the President of the Suhana Basant Foundation.
Anurag Joshi on Flute and Shymal Banerjee on Sitar Numa Guitar will be a part of the Sitar Ensemble for the evening.
