CALIFORNIA: The 9th OCR World Championships held at Mammoth Mountain, California, witnessed some of the world’s best obstacle course racers competing in a three-day event filled with intense competition. The event featured a stacked field of athletes from various countries, including the USA, Canada, Ecuador, Chile, Norway, and Denmark.

The first day of the event saw age group athletes taking on the fast and furious 3k course, followed by the pro athletes. Rylan Schadegg emerged victorious in the men’s pro event, beating high-profile athletes like Ryan Atkins and Ian Hosek. In the women’s pro event, Lindsay Webster took an early lead, but Nicole Mericle overtook her in the final seconds to claim first place.

The second day of the event saw the Pro athletes take on the longest event of the weekend, the 15k. Ryan Atkins and Lindsay Webster were looking to make up for their near misses on the first day, but it was Rylan Schadegg who emerged victorious in the men’s event. Lindsay Webster dominated the women’s event, finishing fifth overall and beating last year’s first-place male by thirteen seconds.

The final day of the event featured the team relay, charity event, and the 100m semi-finals and finals. The “Kings of Leon” team, comprising Leon Kofoed, Ryan Atkins, and Ian Hosek, won the Pro male event, while Team USA won the co-ed event. The female team of Nicole Mericle, Lindsay Webster, and Libbie Joyce, team “They Are Fierce,” emerged victorious in the female event.

Overall, the 9th OCR World Championships was a thrilling event filled with intense competition and incredible achievements. Rylan Schadegg and Nicole Mericle emerged as the champions of the men’s and women’s pro events, respectively, showcasing their immense natural talent and hard work.
