1000 students to be upskilled in IOT and AI in 37 Polytechnic colleges
BENGALURU: Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR) today, announced its partnership with the Department of Collegiate and Technical Education (DCTE), Government of Karnataka as part of its flagship CSR program “Samsung Innovation Campus”. The partnership will enhance technical skills in the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for more than a thousand students and teachers in 37 polytechnic colleges across 30 districts of Karnataka.
This initiative strengthens Samsung’s commitment to the Government’s Skill India initiative as part of its vision of #PoweringDigitalIndia. The collaboration will provide hands-on training and access to cutting-edge technologies to students in rural areas.
Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) program, a global citizenship initiative aims to foster innovation in IoT and AI and bridge the proficiency gaps, and aims to skill our GenZ’s in new-age technologies thereby enhancing their employability. The SIC program will ignite a technological revolution by offering students training through a comprehensive understanding of the latest technologies and a unique opportunity to collaborate with SSIR engineers.
The program will include all the adequate facilities, required kits, and equipment along with IoT and AI-based training for students as per the SIC module. This will further enable an ecosystem of innovation for students to thrive and help them develop industry-capable skills as part of their learning curriculum. Under a multidisciplinary approach, students will be provided with a space to solve local problems through practical experience working in the field of agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, water, and energy management.

Students will go through theoretical as well as practical applications as per the course module and will go through assessments during and after the completion of the course. In the end, students have to prepare the project in the final stage. Certificates will also be given out after reaching a certain level of training.
