PUNE: On the occasion of the birthday of the late Pt Shrikant Deshpande, grandson of Sawai Gandharva and disciple of Bharat Ratna Pt Bhimsen Joshi, late Pt Shrikant Deshpande Mitra Mandal has organized a program of Indian classical music ‘Sangeet Sandhya’ on Thursday 13th June. The program will be at Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium, Kothrud from 5 PM onwards. The program is free and open to all on a first-come, first-served basis.
Sheila Deshpande, wife of late Pt. Shrikant Deshpande informed that this marks the 12th year of the program.
In this program senior and renowned vocalists Pt. Dr. Ajay Pohankar and vocalist Pt. Dr. Ram Deshpande of Agra Gharana will enthrall the audience with their melodious renditions. Bharat Kamat (Tabla) & Suyog Kundalkar (Harmonium) will accompany both the artists. Anand Deshmukh will moderate the program.
