UNITED STATES: Vice President Kamala Harris met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence Safety in Bletchley Park, UK. The two leaders discussed a range of global security issues, including the urgent need to increase humanitarian aid to the civilian population of Gaza.
During the meeting, Vice President Harris reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself following the recent Hamas terrorist attack on October 7. In addition to the Gaza crisis, the two leaders discussed global security issues such as Russia’s war in Ukraine. Vice President Harris underscored the importance of continuing to provide support to the people of Ukraine. They also discussed the situation in Haiti and the importance of mobilizing international support for a multinational security support mission there.
