MUMBAI: Housefull 5 is off to a roaring start, with bookings opening on an excellent and exciting note. With the release of two alternate versions – Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B – this is a first-of-its-kind move for Indian cinema, and audiences are already lining up to see which twist-filled ending they’ll experience.
The film’s unique format, offering two distinct narrative conclusions, has added an element of surprise and intrigue, turning every screening into a new adventure. Both versions are now live for bookings in select cities, and initial reports indicate a strong response, particularly in key metros.
Building on this momentum, the Housefull 5 team has begun an energetic promotional tour across India. The most recent stop in Delhi drew huge crowds as Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Fardeen Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Nargis Fakhri engaged fans in full-blown Housefull style. Videos of Akshay leading a playful phugdi dance with Nana and Fardeen have gone viral, capturing the infectious energy that the franchise is known for. Fans erupted in cheers as the cast turned the stage into a carnival of comedy and celebration.
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala, who also penned the story and screenplay, recently opened up about the film’s bold narrative experiment.
“With Housefull 5, we wanted to take a bold, creative swing that hasn’t been done before internationally for any thriller film. The idea of having multiple endings, multiple experiences, has been with me for 30 years. Since I wanted to make Housefull 5 a thriller comedy, there couldn’t have been a better way to execute my idea of having multiple endings than this.”
As India’s most successful comedy franchise celebrates 15 years, Housefull 5 is not only raising the bar in terms of entertainment but rewriting the playbook on how franchise films can surprise, delight, and invite audiences back for more.
