‘Hunar’ of students showcased through art and innovation

PUNE: Considering the importance of inculcating extra-curricular activities in the school curriculum, Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School, Ganesh Nagar recently organized ‘Hunar Haat’ in which an array of artwork and innovative projects by students were put on display.

‘Hunar Haat.’ was inaugurated at the hands of Sujata Dharap; an eminent painter, muralist, and the director of ‘Creative Club’. Other dignitaries like Kushal Hegde and Malti Kalmadi; Kannada Sangha’s President and Secretary, Dr. Devasena Desai; Associate Director of Kaveri Gifted Education and Research Centre, Pallavi Naik; Principal of Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School and others were also present on the occasion.

An Art Display of Paper Plate, Madhubani, Gond, Sand Paper, Pipli, Saura, Coffee Painting, Warli, Doodle, 2-D Design, Landscape, Graffiti, Illusion, Abstract, etc. was exhibited at the ‘Hunar Haat.’ The Innovation Hub was the highlight, as science projects like the Reverse Plastic Vending Machine, Aquaponics, and Plant Keyboard, in which the leaves produced the sound of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ when touched because of electric currents, etc. were made and presented by the students. In the ‘Hunar Kala Manch’ performing arts like dance, drama, poetry, and singing were staged, while handmade art pieces created and decorated by the students were put up for sale too.
