INDIA: US President Joe Biden nominated Ajay Banga an Indian American as the president of the World Bank. This role has traditionally been with the United States.
Ajaypal Singh Banga was born in Kirkee (Khadki) in the city of Pune to an army family that hailed from Jalandhar. Banga completed his early education at St. Edward’s School, Shimla, and at the Hyderabad Public School in Hyderabad. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. He completed his PGP in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
He is also the chairman of the public-private partnership for Central America with U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.
