Sahyadri Hospitals launches Advanced Hand Surgery Department in Pune

PUNE: Sahyadri Hospitals in Pune has launched an Advanced Hand Surgery Department to provide specialized care for hand, wrist, and upper extremity conditions. The department aims to provide relief to adult and pediatric patients suffering from any conditions or illness of the hand using a multi-disciplinary team approach. The use of advanced imaging and surgical techniques will aid in minimal invasive evaluations, and precise interventions, enhancing patient care and outcomes. The services offered include emergency treatment, joint reconstruction, small joint arthroscopy, bone transplantation, tendon/ligament reconstruction, and reconstructive surgery for birth defects, treatment of repetitive motion injuries, nerve repair, and other cutting-edge techniques.

The department also offers specialized hand therapy provided by occupational therapists and physical therapists to assist in upper extremity rehabilitation. Hand therapy focuses on preventing injury, restoring function, and enhancing participation in daily life. Rehabilitation services cover postoperative care, pain management, sensory re-education, exercise programs, splint fabrication, and more.
